This past month I visited the Amalfi coast with family for the first time. Over 10 days we stayed in 5 different hotels (including the St. Regis in Rome and the Il San Pietro in Positano) and Palazzo Avino blew them all away.
I honestly dont know where to begin...I dont know what was better, the views, the staff, the service..they all were above and beyond.
Specifically I want to thank Antonio, Stefano, Salvatore, Catarina, Matteo, Daniele, Diego and Tiziana who all made their own separate impression on me with their friendly attitudes, attentiveness and professionalism. A special thanks to Diego who brought a full service cocktail hour to us in the lobby/lounge area, only to have us change our minds and go outside. He carried every last item down for us and refused to let us do any of the work. We all agreed he deserved a special call out in this review because of his attentiveness. I dont mean to leave anyone out, as the entire staff was fabulous, but these were among the staff whom I interacted directly with. I would also like to compliment the house staff who made sure that our rooms were spotless, checked in more than once a day to make sure that we had water, that our beds were turned down and that our room was clean and comfortable.
The restaurant in the hotel is top notch and definitely worth staying in for a night to try. I dont drink, but I was assured by my fellow travelers that the Mojito (made by Salvatore) and the James Bond martini are not to be missed.
I worked out every day that I stayed in Ravello simply because of the view from the gym .. bring your running shoes, you wont wait to miss out!
I cant wait to go back.
