“Wonderful meal and evening”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

We visited Il Flauto di Pan to celebrate my husband's birthday and had a wonderful meal and a very special evening. We were slighlty apprehensive as we were with our children and hoped that they would also both enjoy the meal and feel comfortable. We needn't have worried we were all made very welcome and they loved the meal from start to finish. The waiters asked questions about anything we couldn't eat and altered the meal to accommodate a food allergy. The meal and evening were almost like a piece of theatre and we spent a fantastic five hours at Villa Cimbrone as we visited the gardens for an hour before dining.
The food itself was delicious - three of us had the small tasting menus - both the fish and meat tasting menus - and one had a la carte. All menus were varied and beautifully presented. The only sad fact was that even though we ate over the course of four hours, we were still just too full to finish the wonderful chocolates at the end of the meal.

“Spot on”

Wonderful service, beautiful setting. Food is as you would expect of a Michelin star restaurant. Also very child friendly, they were very accommodating of our 8 year old.

“Evening ruined by incompetence - such a shame”
Reviewed August 28, 2013 via mobile

Having read the reviews for Il Flauto Di Pan we were excitedly looking forward to our dining experience. It must be said the hotel and gardens are in the most fantastic and dramatic setting...well worth the 10 min walk uphill. However, our meal was ruined after twice giving my son food he was unable to eat. I had e-mailed ahead that he was on a gluten & dairy free diet and assured the chef had been informed - this is a 2 Michelin star restaurant - should not have been a problem for them. His duck starter arrived and he began eating when it was whipped away from him and some elements removed - at a serving table right next to our table! Then his main course of guinea fowl arrived - there were creamy looking potatoes on it so we queried if it had milk/cream in it - we were assured again it was fine so he started eating - AGAIN the waiter came back and removed his plate! Took it to the kitchen and arrived back with just the meat on it - no vegetables, nothing.. incredible and so disappointing. We complained but our waiter told us he had a very difficult job..?! Overall, my son left still hungry and we left under-awed.

“Excellent food,ambience and fair value”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

Excellent food, ambience and fair value. We sat outside with a fabulous view...I suspect one of the best views along the coast and wonderful gardens. The staff were a bit old school in their delivery, and maybe a bit too worried about maintaining their star rating than really concentrating on the customer...but this was only really a minor point in a fabulous experience
