We had a lovely time at this b and b! So glad that we stayed in this lovely town. Every breakfast was served on their lovely terrace outside. Piertro even remembered after the first morning what coffee we liked and how many we seemed to have! The breakfast was fantastic! Lively fruit salad and yogurt followed by fresh buns and pastries as well as fresh juice. The room was great and the owners wonderful. Thanks Piertro!

We stayed here for three nights 3rd June to 6th June 2012 whilst we attended a wedding in ravello. The location is very close to the centre of ravello with its lovely square, the service is fantastic - nothing was too much trouble. Pietro did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible and recommended some good restaurants. The terrace area is a great outside seating area to enjoy breakfast with beautiful views. This accomodation does partly overlook a car park, however it does not cause a problem. We will be returning to the ll ducato. Thank you Pietro. Best wishes from the bunting party.

We had a great 6-night stay at Il Ducato in May 2012, while in Ravello for my daughter's wedding. Pietro was extremely accommodating... rooms were spacious and clean... breakfast was very good - fresh fruit, yogurt, croissants, juice, cappuchino, etc. The location is down the steps from the town square... nice mountain views... no sea view. Very comfortable.. good value for the price.

We stayed at il Ducato for three nights in May 2012. If you want these things, this is the perfect place for you:

1. Pietro, the proprietor, does not seem to remember your reservation.

2. Pietro tells you that you will have a "superior" room after all.

3. When you arrive, you learn that il Ducato is some 300 meters down a steep slope, thus well removed from the main square where the action is.

4. You learn that "superior" means that you have a view of 100+ car parking lot.

5. You learn that the parking lot is busy day and night, most notably at night around 1 a.m. when drunks come to reclaim their cars.

6. You learn that a continental breakfast is served in a very small room with four other tables.

7. You learn that Pietro is not as friendly and forthcoming as you were led to believe and even seemed at a loss when we asked him to recommend a restaurant.

This is probably the best value accommodation in Ravello. It's expensive for what it is, but the whole of Ravello is pricey!

We were assigned the wrong room on arrival [the cleaner welcomed us and misread our reservation] but didn't realise until the next day. Pietro happily moved our bags to a bigger room and didn't charge us the full rate for the first night. There was no quibble - which is as it should be but sometimes doesn't happen.

The rooms are a good size, spotless and very quiet, for the only time in our whole stay in Italy we didn't hear other guests or traffic or anything except the birds singing. Whoever did the decor has a good eye and although the rooms were simple and painted all white, the artwork and small touches made them stylish and comfortable.

The hotel is very close to the centre of the town and although it's right by a carpark, we didn't hear car doors or people at all.

There are shutters on the outside of the windows [and door if that is the style of room you have] which can be closed to block out the light. If you're driving, park in the bottom carpark and don't bother getting a parking ticket. PIetro will sort you out and arrange with the attendant so that you don't get charged. Parking is EUR15 a day - again not cheap, but a better rate than if you're a day visitor.

Room Tip: If you're staying for more than a couple of nights, it's worth getting the superior rooms as...

My husband and I stayed here for four nights in April. Our room was very spacious and the bathroom and shower great (although we did find some drainage issues). Pietro is a terrific host providing information on what to see and where to eat. Breakfast was very very good - in fact way too much gorgeous food - but great for setting you up for the day. We had been travelling for several weeks and were getting low on clean clothes - ever resourceful Pietro was able to arrange for a local lady to do our washing, which kept us going for the next couple of weeks. The B&B is very centrally located in Ravello and we spent our days walking around this magical little town or down in Amalfi - heaven on earth!! We did the walk from Ravello down to Amalfi, down through the lemon groves and gorgeous little houses - the walk is not for the faint hearted, but fabulous if you are up for it. This B&B is clean, spacious, welcoming and very well located. Jo & Ron, April 2012, Sydney Australia.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a view - we just had a small window not looking out at much. Just check with Piet...

Perfect situation, in the charming village of Ravello, Pietro is helpful, breakfast is ideal...
But the room had a very small window, with view on a stone wall... and the hotel is located on a parking lot... Some rooms have a view on the mountains and they are really nice, but ask before you book !!
