5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

Al Borgo is a lovingly run B&B with excellent views and value for money. The location allows for easy access to the beaches down below and Ravello up above. I would not recommend taking the stairs on a regular basis unless you are fit as they are rather tiring in the heat. We tackled the stairs once or twice a day and they have helped us lose a few pounds! Roberto is very helpful, he put on breakfast over an hour earlier than scheduled just so we weren't hungry on our flight home, he then refused to take a tip from us! Mini fridge well stocked and reasonable prices, rooms immaculate. Overall, very impressed!!!

Room Tip: Sea view room has a view to take your breath away, book if possible!

We stayed at Al Borgo Torello for five nights. The accommodation was delightfully clean and simply decorated. Our bed was very comfortable, and our room included a useful sofa. Our shower room was very well equipped with towels and toiletries and the shower was always hot and efficient. We enjoyed a beautiful view from our window along the coast to Minori and Maori. Breakfasts were ample and delicious and included croissants, a variety of breads and cakes including superb 'Torte Caprese', butter and preserves, fresh fruit, cereals and fresh milk, and a variety of teas and coffees. The fresh coffee was excellent! Much of the food including the Torte Caprese is made by Roberto himself! Roberto is a great host, very friendly and helpful, and speaks very good English. On my email request he arranged for a minicab to collect us from Naples Airport on our outward journey, having first let us know the cost of this. This is excellent accommodation at a very reasonable price.

Ravello (and the Amalfi Coast) was one of our stops in our honey moon. We stayed 3 nights at this B&B. We loved it. The location was perfect, as we quickly learn how to take the bus to get to Amalfi where we would take the ships to different places (Positano, Capri, etc)
Roberto (the owner) was fantastic! He had maps, schedules, and all kinds of information regarding transportation and activities in the A. Coast. The place is clean, comfortable, you get a great view and a wonderful breakfast at an unbeatable price.

Would definitely recommend and will be back.

Good location outside the city center of Ravello but still close enought to visit the city. Lots of stairs for going to the city center. Very comfortable and clean room, renovated just a year ago. Nice garden with amazing views to Amalfi coast. Brekfast served in the garden was good (big croissants, cakes, fruits, cheese, salami, jam, honey, tea, milk, coffe, juice). prepared by owner Roberto. Roberto was very lovely and made us feel very welcome.
We really enjoyed in Borgo Torello and we would recommended to everyone spending time in Ravello.

This B&B is located on the southern edge of Ravello which means a climb of maybe 300 steps to get to the city centre - OK for young people, rather a strain for those in their sixties. The house itself has been well renovated and the room we occupied, just for one night, was comfortable, though a bigger piece of soap would have been appreciated! Breakfast in the garden was very pleasant - a basic continental breakfast but served with charm. The view is lovely despite the occasional telegraph wires. Definitely a good choice for mthose on a budget.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2010

We got to the Amalfi coast without a Hotel in August! It was very difficult to find a place.
Ravello was an option, so we found this gem , We thaught it was in Ravello but it was not, thing that was not a big issue. It was an adventure. It is located a bit lower than Ravello so to get to Ravello we had su climb a lot of stairs. Tired, but a way to discover the streets, and all they have inside, like medieval small churches.
The Bed & Breakfast was just renewed, very clean and with a great taste. Roberto gave us a nice welcome. The views are amazing and it is very quiet.
Our room was a bit small for three, Not a big isue and the bathroom was big. Cleanliness was everywhere.
If you don't mind climb stairs or walk down to the beach in Minori or Amalfi, stay here.
The only problem I found is that the place has no internet. No Wifi nor a computer to use. And if you need to be connected this is not the place. There were only one computer in Ravello available in a bar and no wifi places at all. I had to work, with my blackberry and couldn't use it.
Anyway, it is a nice place

This is an amazing place with beautiful views and quaint streets. The rooms are airy, fresh, very clean and comfortable with a contemporary but very Italian feel. It has air-conditioning which works a treat and welcome given the 38 deg temperatures we had, even with the usual mountain breeze.

The owner is charming, helpful and obliging. Although he doesn't stay on the property he made himself available on his mobile phone and he was able to offer tips and local information. Every morning he served a generous continental breakfast with the most enormous croissants I've ever seen. The only criticism I would have is that it was always the same. I didn't ask for something different so I don't know if he'd be amenable to doing something different. Breakfast was served in the pretty garden with views of the valley and sea.

Parking can be a bit of a nuisance. The free parking is on a road that isn't particularly wide. There is some more that is metered between hours of 0800 and 2400 however, when we were there the meter had been broken for some time and so parking was effectively free. Cars did tend to park in the turning space at night so turning the car could be a challenge. From town of Ravello the hotel is reached via a narrow road approx 2-3 miles. Because cars do park down one side or other it takes some negotiating but nothing problematic.

On foot Ravello is full of steps ... many, many steps. Not a problem for the fit and healthy but can be difficult for anyone who has difficulty with stairs. The hotel too is reached up about 20 steps or so from the street and most of the rooms are up a flight of stairs. Nontheless, for the fit, it isn't taxing.

I would recommend this lovely hotel wholeheartedly.
