Beautiful old town with architecture dating from the 1590s.Loved the churches and the cathedral. Nice restaurants and bars around the various squares. Take your camera!

The old medieval town, with its narrow alleys has been reconstructed with a baroque style, making the combination very particular. Very impressive from above in the evening when the lights are turned on.

Ragusa and its baroque churches and building is one of the most beautiful and elegant city in Europe! Not to miss a long walking From Corso Italia passing through Santa Maria delle Scale (the view is breathtaking) until the Public Garden or Giardino Iblea... Simply Stunnin the view at night overlooking the Baroque Duomo.

What a magical place. Hidden stairways, little laneways, always something around the next corner, of which there are many. We wandered, and wandered. Going down from the new town to Ibla was especially fun as we discovered an old set of steps that took us through old gardens and abandoned houses. Walk back up, rather than catch the bus.
Make sure you do not miss a visit to Ragusa, it is a delightful place.

We loved walking around the town exploring the myriad alleyways and pathways. It was great not to be too troubled by cars. You need strong legs to cope with all the stairs - it is a town built on/into a mountain! Be prepared to suffer calf ache for a day or two! Views were fantastic. There are Bars in which to enjoy a drink over a simple lunch, and lots of restaurants in which to savour the delicious Sicilian cuisine at its best.
