“Outstanding service and beautiful room”
Reviewed June 21, 2014 via mobile

We have just left this lovely little hotel and what a special time we had thanks to the brilliant owners.

The hotel is located at the top if the steps to ibla which is the ancient town. The walk talked about 10 -15 minutes down and is an experience in its self.

This was our honeymoon and the effort made to make my wife and me welcome was amazing. We were greeted at our car so we could have help with our luggage. We had the suite which was a great surprise as the photos really don't do it justice. All in lovely taste.

The owners then went to the extraordinary effort of preparing a candlelit bath with prosecco and canapés, (it is a jacuzzi bath!) needless to say my wife thought this was the highlight of the honeymoon so far.

Amazing hospitality, great location and outstanding value for money.

We are really happy to know that your honeymoon was nice to us. We tried to pamper yourself a bit to make it even more glad this beautiful event. We remember with joy

We had 2 rooms plus shower on the top floor with a small verandah overlooking the beautiful Ragusa Ibla. One room has a very comfortable 4 poster bed, the other a sofa and sideboard with kettle, teapot and sachets of tea and a bowl of fruit topped up eah day. However what makes the experience is the owner Daniella. She spoils you, she pampers you. Your luggage is carried for you. A
most wonderful breakfast is brought to your room. She wants your visit to be perfect. Our visit was perfect. Thank you Danielle

Good location, very helpful owners, good restaurant recommendations.

Nicely designed apartments but not practical at all as dark (not enough lights), fancy shower with several shower heads and directions but no shower door (bathroom was flooded after every shower).

Make sure you don't get the top floor suite as birds will keep you awake or wake you up (constantly running over the roof, scratching the tiles, nesting, chirping etc.). No breakfast room, thus room service which meant that coffee, toast and everything else that should be warm was cold as they had to carry it along the side street to the individual suites.

This could be a great place with some improvements.

Room Tip: don't take the top floor apartment.

Thank you for your review, we take this opportunity to reiterate once again that our B & B has no common places where to have breakfast, breakfast is brought to suite the time exactly where it is required, pass exactly two minutes from when you put in the tray and is brought to the suite, and it is impossible for it to cool, as all dishes are hot. They also do not understand why they, despite warned of birds, we are in the spring, they did not ask to change suites. You get the impression that they deliberately wanted to stay, apparently beyond these small things that others have an advantage of our facility, it was not bad at all.

A beautifully modernised sicilian house in a quiet location close to the steps down to Ragusa Ibla. Daniela was charming, helpful and attentive and went out of her way to make it the perfect holiday. She provided a sumptuous breakfast every day and found delicious gluten free extras for my wife.

2 days in Ragusa - to discover the Sicilian treasures of baroque - Ragusa, Modica and Noto.
The Giumbabulla Luxury is situated in a house dating back to early 19th century. Since begin 2012 Daniela operates there her special B+B after having created 3 differently themed suites in the house.
We had the suite Arabesque consisting of living room, sleeping room and a small balcony. On this balcony we took our breakfast and afternoon tea. The balcony gives a nice view over Ragusa and the valley that separates Ragusa from Ibla, the historic center.
Daniela's house is just at the intersection between Ragusa and Ibla and thus is ideally situated to discover Ragusa and Ibla by foot - at least if you are fit. There are many stairs to climb, but that is rewarded by stunning views and the discovery that I am still alive.
What I however liked most is Daniela's help and friendly attitude.
She helped us with luggage, to find our way in Ragusa and Ibla, provided us with possibilities for dinner and aperitif... and took care that the taxi that she ordered for dinner well arrived.
A lot of this attitude you can discover in the breakfast - each day different things many freshly prepared by herself - we had minipizza, citron cake, omelet - each day different salty and sweet options.

Room Tip: Suite Arabesque - is very nice (see description)

What a romantic room! We had a king suite – absolutely stunning! Four poster bed and the softest linen sheets. Beautiful furnishings. A multi-jetted shower. A cozy colourful sitting room with a fruit basket and selection of teas for our arrival. A balcony with city views. We were on the top floor so we also had a beautiful beamed ceiling. Of course that meant there were stairs to get there and wifi wasn’t available in our room due to its location. Very quiet AC and a quiet location plus I could use the wifi in the reception area.

Amazing service. We pulled into a nearby piazza and called Daniela. She came and met us to show us where to park. Giovanni came and helped with our luggage. He also brought breakfast to our room in the morning and oh was it lovely – fresh buttery pastries, fruit, omelette, juice, ham & cheese on toast, yogurt and pizza buns.

But here’s the truly amazing part – they did my laundry!! I hadn’t been able to find a laundry place so she offered to do it as if it was no big deal. It was a huge deal to me I can tell you.

Also loved the location. Easy 10 minute walk into the centre of town. Plus the B&B is located right near the stairs that take you down into Ragusa Ibla – the old section. Take a taxi back though.
I can’t imagine a more perfect B&B or a more lovely family.

Daniela and Giovanni worked overtime to make our stay a pleasant one, and I appreciate their efforts. We did not, however, read their last-minute e-mail on how to get to the property, spending several hours trying to figure out its location. We finally called them, and Daniela quickly located us (we actually were rather close) and guided us safely in. Be sure of the directions before you arrive. Once there we were treated royally, but like any residence some things didn't work at first. In this case, the hot water. Again, be sure you know which buttons should be on. As for Ragusa, it's full of interesting places but also steep climbs, which made for a difficult beginning to our extended stay. Breakfasts were large and good, and were an excellent start for the day. Parking turned out to be an adventure each day (Giovanni parked the car for us the first night) and was critical in getting our luggage from the car to the inn. We had a room on the third floor, which was a taxing climb for someone with bad knees. The room itself was comfortable with a good view of Ragusa Ibla. We had originally planned to stay for 5 nights, but opted to leave after three and head for the beaches. Again, our hosts were most hospitable and energetic.

Room Tip: Higher floors have great views but require a hefty climb.
