“Pleasant meal”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

We had a tasty meal with friendly service. Had hoped to perhaps have seen some pictures of the Montalbano connection but nothing doing.

“All in all quite average”
Reviewed September 16, 2013 via mobile

The location is quite cute, so is the background music. But when it comes to food, which counts the most fore it was quite unspectacular. Neither the antipasti of the house not the orange salad or my pasta with sardines and fennel were particularly good.
The staff doesn't seem to be in a good mood.
Summary: I'd better spend my money somewhere else next time.

“A nice place to stop for a bite.”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

Quite a nice place in this lovely, lovely town for a meal. Menu limited. Nothing particularly special food wise. But good value if watching your pennies! Watch out for people smoking if you sit outside. And sitting outside is so much nicer. The good thing is you don't have to have 6 courses.

“Vastly overrated restaurant with a precious terrace garden.”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

We had dinner here at the advice of our hotel host. Apparently it is pretty famous because of a TV series. The garden terrace is beautiful indeed and worth a visit. I cannot say the same about the food and service. Their pasta lacks taste and was not impressive, and the same thing goes for their overpriced yet boring cheese platter. It took them over 40 minutes to get us the bill and the service wasn't good. There are better places to go to in Siracusa- but do take a picture of their terrace when you pass by.

“Montalbano Tourist Place, But Still Brilliant”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

Yes, this is the retsaurant where the Montalbano crew eat from time to time, and it has featured in the TV series. But it is a seriously good restauarant. Sitting out under the vines in the old city at lunch, and getting great food is just a delight. The grilled fish dish of swordfish, calamari and prawns washed down with a Moretti beer is a great experience in a wonderfully scenic place. Do not miss rusticana where the staff look serious but are great fun and very professional.
