“Nice but has limitations”
Reviewed October 31, 2011

We stayed of r 4 nights, the hotel is lovely the rooms are large and unIque. The staff is very helpful and the minibar is free in the room ans the breakfast is plain but good.

The limitations are that there is no wi-fi. For the business traveler this is not good at all. The overnight shift has no one that speaks English which when I had a problem in the room one night was a problem. I also had to move rooms due to an unfixable plumbing issue.

I would be willing to go back if they install wi-fi, the location is excellent and the building and the renovated palazzo is really appealing. I hate to give bad reviews but be warned about the limitations.

Room Tip: Do not take a room which is on the street where u need to go outside to enter the room.

Ragusa is simply a wonderful town, and I strongly recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Sicily. Pity we could just spend a full day there. I booked this hotel not quite knowing what to expect, and with little expectations for a plush room given it was the four of us sleeping together. However, I was quite impressed since, due to low occupancy, we were given the "suite", a 55+ square meter facility which boasts two rooms, each with a king-size bed, flat-screen TV, a balcony and other amenities I can't remember at the moment; one is more spacious than the other though. The "star" and most amusing feature was the bathroom anyway: yes, it is a modern, quaint and ample space with a very comfy bath-tub and shower, but bear in mind the latter is absolutely see-through, that is everybody in the room can watch you while you perform your "hygiene duties". It was absolutely no problem for us since we were four guys and close friends, and it was good for cheap laughs among ourselves and with the hotel staff. But I assume some people might find it uncomfortable so be forewarned.

Laughs aside the place was very good: it's a beautiful, restored building in the upper part of town, but close enough to Ragusa Ibla (10-15 minute walk). The receptionists were very nice and always ready to help, and they even gave us locally-produced honey as a present. Breakfast was good albeit not too far from the average standard we encountered all over the island, and all in all we left the place with the impression that our money had been soundly spent. Oh, and you can park for free on the side street.

Not luxurious, but definitely good and worth the money.

Old building refurbished in minimal fashion. In a back street that's not too attractive. You can park for free in a side street. The hotel is elegant but sparse and therefore feels a little "cold". Receptionists helpful, and breakfast great. The only drawback is that the really old part of town is Ragusa Ibla looks close on the map but it is a 25 min walk downhill ( yes, coming back is exhausting) or $15 by taxi. I would recommend staying in Ragusa Ibla.

This is a lovely hotel. The rooms are large, as are the bathrooms. The mini-fridge is stocked with complimentary beverages. The front desk is helpful. And the breakfasts are...simply marvelous! The location is Ragusa rather than Ragusa Ibla but it's a nice walk or quick bus ride. We love this place!
