Really liked this one.

Nice little pool but not umbrellas which made it a little bit too hot in the afternoons

We got a very big room, which was nice and clean.
Breakfast could have been better, but was ok

All in all - a great hotel. Would come back

We loved this hotel: our room had Stone walls and the two double beds (one for our 3 year old son) were in different áreas of the room which allowed some privacy. The Swimming pool and gardens were a jewel, and the service very good. Comfortable rooms, beautiful palace and the breakfast room left us speechless. We would go back again, no doubt!

Room Tip: Book in advance, and cheaper if done through Booking.com or similar webs.

Recently I have taken my parents to Villa Del Lauro in the old part of Ragusa. We were simply awed. This old palazzo is restored to the last detail and the rooms are amazingly stylish as much as they are incredibly spacious. The pool area and the gardens are manicured to give you a calm feeling and the staff make you feel that is the only place where you want to be, pampered, counted, looked after, exactly like home. Villa del Lauro is one place I highly recommend hands on heart. I didn't mention the cleanliness, the complimentary Bar, it all conveys the same message, the management cares to give you a treat and they don't spare any efforts to give you just that. Go and enjoy! Ingrid Zerafa, Malta

We went as a family and the hotel was great. An old building with some fantastic original features but big, modern and beautiful rooms. Rooms have a kitchenette and the soft drinks in the minibar are complementary which is a nice touch. The pool and gardens are wonderful and the staff lovely, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazing. The only trick is getting a good GPS or directions. It can be difficult to find the hotel through the narrow streets and one way system.

Room Tip: We had 4 rooms and all were good.

What a wonderful oasis of calm and beauty in this lovely town of Ragusa. The rooms are generous in size, very stylishly furnished and the mini bar is free!! There are beautiful terraced gardens and a good sized swimming pool. The breakfast buffet is amazing, especially for Ialian standards. Staff speak very well English and are friendly and helpful. A special 'Thank You' has to go to Francesca who chased my taxi, stopped it in a small street and handed over my mobile+charger which I had left connected in the breakfast room. Can service get any better! I can honestly recommend this hotel to everybody and should I ever return to Ragusa, this would be my first choice!

This beautiful refurbished town house is set very close to the steps down to Ragusa Ibla. The building has been beautifully restored and now mixes modern fitting with ancient floors and refreshed frescoes. Or room, number 11, was very spacious within a little kitchenette, although we were disappointed it faced the road . . There was no issue at all with noise but the gardens at the back are so beautiful it was a real shame not to have a view. The hotel also has a great pool, and plunge pool ( both freezing!) with very trendy loungers set in a secluded rose garden. Breakfast was great huge selection of fruit, yoghurt, cold meats and cheeses, great pastries and all the other standard fare you would expect. Coffee was great but my only minor niggle .... With oranges growing in the back yard and why could we not have fresh orange. The hotel so close to perfection that I would recommend it very highly to anyone visiting Ragusa.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the garden

Villa del Lauro has just been redecorated and is immaculate. It's an old building, refurbished and decorated in a modernist, minimalist style. It won't be to everyone's taste, but we loved it. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was outstanding - great bread and pastries, lovely ham, fresh fruit and voghurt. The only downside is that ideally you would want to be in the old town - Ragusa Ibla. Villa del Lauro is on the edge of the 'new town' - although it's a beautiful old building - near the steps that descend to the old medieval town. That's fine for a nice day time visit, but after spending the day there and returning to the hotel you might not want to walk back in the evening. However the choice of restaurants in the new town is limited. And like most places in Sicily, it takes courage to drive your car around the narrow streets and even more to park nearby.
