“The prettiest town in southern Sardinia”
Reviewed April 19, 2011

We were staying in Cagliari and got an invitation to visit friends of friends in Pula. We were really surprised to find this beautifully maintained little town with the perfect piazza, which hosts many musical events through the summer months. Having dinner in a courtyard restaurant we heard a great band playing, only to discover it was Matt Bianco doing some of their 90's hits and having everyone from kids to grannies dancing in the square.

The town has a wide range of shops as well as many gelateria, cafes and restaurants. There is a cute boutique hotel Villa Madau in the centre, plus a few other B&B's nearby and some larger resort hotels on the beach at Nora a 20 minute walk away. With the extensive Roman ruins at Nora, a fabulous coastline with a good range of watersports, an Aquaparc, golf club, the music club Tsunami just outside the town we thought this was a perfect base for a holiday only 35 minutes from the historic capital of Cagliari.

We liked it so much we decided to move to the area.

“loved this town in Sardinia”
Reviewed September 28, 2005

when my husband and I arrived in Pula, we were so excited to see how the people embraced us. Being in a foreign country and speaking very little Italian was hard, but the people of Sardinia made our trip very memorable. Most of the shop keepers in Pula spoke a little english. Enough for us to understand. Most of the restaurants were very helpful and also spoke English. The town is quaint and everything you would imagine a little countryside town to be like. We stayed at the Hotel Costa de Fiori and the hosts were very knowledgeable. The hotel now has a gorgeous salt water pool down by the beach area. It now has two beautiful pools. The one is sitting on the side of the beach overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The setting is breath taking and one we will always remember. It is a great place to unwind and just take in the sun and sand. There really isnt much to do in the evening at the hotel, but you can meander into town by shuttle bus and catch the locals singing and dancing in the streets. We would definitely go back to this beautiful Island.
