“Even better than before!”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

we stayed at this hotel two years ago, and really liked it. Small, lovely gardens, excellent staff. Rooms set around the pool in small blocks. This year, as my wife had been ill, we wanted somewhere quiet and relaxing. There have been some improvements which have enhanced the hotel. Two loggias built out from the main building provide for outdoor dining, under cover. The Breakfast is now a very good buffet, and is also outside. After our comments two years ago, there is now scrambled egg, and you can order, at no charge, specialist coffee and fresh juice. The coffe at the buffet is the one weak point! Cona type. Gardens as lovely as ever, never seen so many different flowering shrubs. Staff as pleasant as ever. Presided over by the Senora, in her office! There is a spa, where we had some massages, and a gym and jacuzzi, the latter we did not see used. They now do lunches, which you have outside, which is another good addition. You can also order oizza in the evening, and eat by candlelight. All in all a really nice hotel, and a lot more english people than before. Word spreads! Some caveats, the aircon is rather load, and some guests like to conduct conversations, late at night , in the gardens, which can disturb. Minor concerns, overall. Excellent, covered, parking. we intend to return!

Room Tip: Choose an upstairs room with a private terrace, really perfect

I don't normally bother writing 3* reviews as there are too many places that are 'average'. However, breaking my own rule here as I had put a lot of research into finding somewhere special for the 2nd part of our Sardinian holiday. Based on earlier reviews and the hotel's own description of being "unique and magic", we were expecting something very special for this 4* 'Hotel and Spa'.

There are many positives to Nora Club: it is well run and maintained; comfortable; decent breakfast; little things thought of (eg fly killer spray in room); and most of all is in walking distances of the town and two beaches (if you like secluded, Foxi is lovely).

However, based on our expectations it didn't quite deliver: whilst pretty, the grounds are quite cramped; all the loungers are very close together and only round the pool edge; the 'private patio' was cramped and unappealing (2 chairs and table in small space between bedroom and hedge); the spa appeared closed throughout our stay with no information available (it appears quite small); the member of staff we saw most was the maintenance man, who obviously worked hard, but he never once responded to our 'buongiorno', 'ciao' or smiles (in my opinion it is the job of all staff to make guests feel welcome, especially one so visible); some fittings are a bit worn (e.g shower door, some tiles, etc); there were a number of businessmen staying there who always seemed to have breakfast at the same time as us: as a hotel-staying-businessman myself I didn't really like being surrounded by them when in a holiday "escape" hotel (it had been fully booked for a few weeks in advance so not a case of last minute lettings of empty rooms).

None of the aspects above are major in themselves and many are personal taste; and the hotel made a more than adequate base for exploring the wonderful area. However, when combined they do not add up to what either my wife or I would describe as "unique and magic".

As all say this is really a very pleasant spot with much to commend it and if you want somewhere very reliable, not that 'foreign' (mainly British tourists via a travel company), with a nice pool, very pleasant waitresses and pleasant company then this is for you.

The only slight downsides, and this may just be personal were (a) the downstairs rooms really are very dark and the terraces quite small and a bit pokey especially as this is not really a cheap option (b) we did actually lack hot water on 3 occasions (c) you could sit by the pool on the concrete but there is no other space in the garden to sit and (d) whilst absolutely perfect for many we did find it a bit quiet and especially in the evenings when they offered drinks or dinner but with little life to the place we preferred to go out each night. Perhaps a little more atmosphere and conviviality would be nice but doubtless many like the place just as it is. We called it a 'John Lewis' sort of place, slightly upmarket and reliable but not that exciting!

Room Tip: See above - slightly dark downstairs rooms

Basic room but comfortable and adequate. The real attraction here is the beautifully done pool and garden area and the terraces where breakfast is served. The inside of this small genuine Italian jewel is also lovely, but I hope you will be out and about at the stunning beaches in Chia! Wake up for a great buffet or anything else you would like prepared for you. We loved Francesco's restaurant recommendations and the staff's gracious and quiet way of making everything perfect for its guests.
Try to get a second floor room if you want to make sure it is light. Our room was dark but we never spent time in it as there is so much beauty in this part of the work and the people are so charming. Best vacation spot in the world!

A really fabulous, relaxing and friendly hotel. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful which makes such a difference on holiday. The pool was gorgeous and we spent more time there than we ever have on a holiday because it was so comfortable and relaxing.
The area around the hotel gave us the opportunity to experience tranquility and some fun bars and restaurants.
Francesco helped us with our onward travel arrangements to Porto Cervo which went really smoothly. I would go back to this Hotel again.

My boyfriend and I arrived at club Nora, hoping for a relaxing and peaceful holiday, away from our stressful jobs; that is exactly what we got. It's a really beautiful little hotel. Our standard room was totally adequate for a weeks holiday. Even in soaring temperatures the rooms stay pretty cool but you have the option of popping the air con on, when it gets too hot. The rooms are basic but stylishly decorated, in cool whites and dark woods. There is plenty of hanging space for clothes and drawers for folding away. We were happy with the bathroom (shower only). The maid service is great and will leave you plenty of complimentary toiletries every day, which are actually rather good.
When we arrived we were told the hotel was full but it seemed wonderfully quiet and there was plenty of space around the pool. People seemed to be in the same mode as us and everyone was polite and kept themselves to themselves. As the week went on, the hotel appeared markedly busier and a couple of "international incidents" occurred over the sun beds. There is clearly not the same amount of sun beds as there is guest capacity, if the hotel is fully occupied. Also, the only real thing for children to do is jump off the little diving board into the lovely pool. This can frankly drive you nuts, if you are sitting next to it!
Breakfast is perfectly ok. Be aware of the wasps that can pop up and annoy you, whilst eating, though. The coffee is awesome and the waiting staff are lovely. We never asked for a lunch menu, which some people did, as we would get fantastic panini just down the road, towards town, at a place called Lobina's cafe. Here Andrea will serve you yummy snacks and cool beers, coffee, etc. for evening meals, don't be put off by the first pizzeria you come to, as you walk into town. It doesn't look much from the outside ( bars on windows!) but inside is the most wonderful family restaurant, full of locals. Great value, too.
We also loved mr jingles, in the main square. This is around a 20 minute walk. Take your time and enjoy the pleasant little town. As I don't eat meat, only fish, I was very offended by the fact that horse is served in a lot of the restaurants here. It's clearly the norm for locals and that I understand but beware if you are vegetarian and pick your dining spots carefully.
We loved the town and surrounding area. Cagliari is a wonderful city to visit, as are some of the less crowded, beautiful beaches, past Chia on the Costa del Sud.

We found this hotel on a google search of Pula earlier in the year and booked direct with the hotel. From the moment we booked, Francesco couldnt have been more helpful in helping out with car hire, directions to the hotel from the Airport (very easy to find), and helping us with restarant bookings. The hotel is situated in a perfect area, just a 10 minute walk into Pula town where there is an abundance of great restaurants and bars. The beach of Nora is about a 25 minute walk but get a car and see te Island, so many lovely beaches to see! The hotel itself has 27 rooms, the pool area is lovely and peaceful. The pool is maintained well and looked after on a daily basis. As so many guests go the local beach, there is never a shortage of sun beds whatever the time of day. The rooms are comfortable, air cond, shower, and very comfortable beds! My only comment would be that the rooms are quite dark and dont have much natural daylight, even with the lamps on, it feels quite dim, however that is a very small concern as the rest of the hotel is fantastic. There is a small bar area where the barman whisked up some fabulous cocktails before we went out for dinner (well worth a taste). Whoever said in their review that the breakfast was minimal and you could only have one cup of coffee is completely wrong! The breakfast was everything you could want, from fresh juice, to coffee, fresh breads, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, cereal, danish pastries, scrambled eggs were brought out in a large dish and kept warm! I would say more than enough for anyone!! I would certainly recommend Nora Club, we had a lovely stay and the staff were more than helpful with everything! thanks to all the staff for making our stay a perfect one!

Room Tip: pay more for a first floor suite if you can as the rooms on the ground can be dark (room 53 was)
