One of the most sophisticated restaurants in Pula, in the lovely Villa Madau Hotel, in a pretty piazzetta behind the main piazza. Charming waiter and a rare example of real thought given to the artistic furnishings. The food was fresh, well presented and homemade but ravioli too soft with no discernable filling (bietola...type of spinach apparently) and tagliatelle too hard with dissappointing cozze). The bill at €40 a head for shared starters, pasta course and shared desert, plus wine, coffee and digestivi was far too high despite the ambiance.
