“Perfect Place”

We were on our Honeymoon and had an amazing time. We stayed three nights here before moving on. The views were amazing. It was great to be able to go to Positano and Amalfi on the bus with no issues. Getting there was nuts for us but we found it no problem. We loved this place. The views were like no other I have ever seen. If you have problems with stairs than this place is not for you but other than that amazing. We wished we could have stayed longer. We did a day trip to Capri which was great and the views are amazing but unless you can afford Gucci, Armani & Rolex it is just about the views and the boat ride (which are amazing). Stay here and you will be blown away! Trip of a lifetime for us and this was the best of three Hotels (the others were in Rome & Sorrento and less about the view and place).

Hotel le Sirene is a lovely B & B, situated right on the cliffs in the small village of Praiano, between Positano and Amalfi, looking out over the ocean and across the bay to Positano. This B & B is spotlessly clean and very well maintained.
Maria is a lovely host. We didn't see alot of her husband. They obviously take great pride in their home and work hard to keep it looking lovely. We were just in awe the first time we went out on the balcony and saw the views. The breakfasts were delicious. Also you can order "snacks' which Maria will happily make for you. Delicious bruschetta, platters of meats and cheeses, all made with fresh ingredients.
The B & B is perfect, but the two downsides are, the stairs from the road up above. We were very surprised when we arrived by how far down we had to walk carrying our luggage. There are well over 100 stairs, plus about 3 ramps down, which means every time you are going out anywhere you have to walk back up all of those stairs. We managed fine, but I think people need to be prepared. The other thing is that Praiano is a very small town. So don't expect alot of choices for restaurants or shops. There are restaurants, but we found them, by Italian standards, not to be that good and quite expensive.
So overall, the B & B is lovely, the location can be challenging, but worth the hike up and down the stairs, and the town disappointing. You can take a bus to Positano, but I'm not sure how late it runs at night and those roads are somewhat scarey to be going back and forth on.

We ended up staying for a week in this beautiful little hotel in Praiano. Our room had a spectacular view over the bay and the owners are wonderful. Despite some initial concerns with the steps to the hotel from the main road, once our luggage was in and we settled we realised what a perfect town Praiano is in every way. Great restaurants ( La Brace was our favourite), away from the tourist destinations and and still an authentic Italian town where the locals are warm and friendly. Easy access by bus or boat to other Amalfi coast towns and worth every penny. Highly recommended for travellers looking for a a real Italian experience away from the madding crowd.

My wife and I ended our honeymoon here and what a way to end a honeymoon, the sea view from the room balcony was amazing, we spent most evenings sat on the balcony watching the sun go down.

The room was basic, very clean and modern with a balcony with an amazing view (did i mention the amazing view), the walk to the hotel is a little adventure in its self down little winding path down past the beautiful church, its a challange on the way back to the main street with your bags, but there is a bag service on offer for a small price.

The breakfast was ok fresh fruit, cereal, meats, cheese's and drinks. The hosts were very welcoming for the moment we arrived till the moment we left.

Just for the sea view we would return

Booked direct by email - excellent english. Great value - got a quad room and adjacent double. Fantastic location just below Piazza Gennaro - views to die for over the sea to Capri. Best breakfasts I had in 2 weeks in Italy - perfect coffee!

From the second we stepped off the bus in Praiano, we loved our stay at Le Sirene. The first thing you'll notice is the quiet - the birds chirping and the sound of the sea below. If you're craving to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place to go. Our hosts, Giancarlo and Maria, were charming and gracious. They would do anything to accommodate us and help us during our stay. And, our room, while simple, was a slice of heaven with a terrace overlooking tiered gardens leading down to the sea. The beautiful view showed the colorful town of Positano just over the sea, and Capri in the far distance - just breathtaking. Breakfast was a nice assortment of mixed fruit salad (different every morning), juice, cheeses and meats, and a variety of breads.

In Praiano, we found good restaurants (Le Brace and Le Strada), both serving great meals with terrific views of the Amalfi coast and the sea, to boot. If you order the fish, they'll filet it right in front of you (cooked.) There's also a little wine bar next door to Le Strada that we enjoyed. A good mix of tourists and locals.

The other great thing about the Praiano location is that it is so easy to get to other towns for day trips. The bus is a short walk from the hotel and an easy way to get to Positano, Ravello or Amalfi. (I recommend skipping the last.) And, after a great day of being tourists in busy tourist areas, we were always so happy to get back to our little Praiano. We recommend this area and hotel to anyone.

As a traveler, I´m sometimes torn between telling the world about a great place, or keeping it to myself, afraid it will be ruined if revealed. Well, after some thinking, here´s a gem:

Hotel Le Sirene has simple, clean rooms with terraces and beautiful views of the Amalfi coast and bay. The staff is super-friendly and laidback and the experience just could not be better. Theres a 5 minute walk down the stonepath to the shore where you can relax/eat/swin or, (after climbilng the stairs again- its Amalfi after all) a one minute walk up from the hotel to the church square and three restaurants.

We went to Praiano for total relaxation after an exhausting work period and it was perfect for this. However, its next to nothing to do in Praiano, only a few grocery shops, an ice cream vendor and one internet shop down the road. But if you´re looking to get away from the hordes of Capri and Positano, this is the place.

G.
