We have nothing bad to say about this hotel. It is immaculate, clean, efficient, friendly and we wish we could have stayed longer. The breakfast was great, the restaurant served wonderful food and the ambience was so peaceful and quiet it was like staying in a health spa!! Location wise its nice to be away from the main Amalfi coast resorts as they were really crowded but you will need a car or be prepared to pay for taxis. Praiano itself doesn't have much but the hotel is so wonderful it doesn't matter. We stayed in a superior room overlooking the sea - its all white and so relaxing. The weather was rubbish when we were there but as the hotel was so good we didn't mind so much. There is a good gym and pool to use as well.
We plan to return before it gets too popular.

Casa Angelina is clean and gorgeous. The stark white decor is something that may take a bit getting used to, but it does let you know the place is spotless. Everything about Angelina is solid. The staff was attentive and very comfortable with the American tourist. Their trips (we rented a boat) and services can run steep, but everything on Amalfi is expensive. I am always a little apprehensive about Trip Advisor reviews (grading based on false expectations), but this time the readers are spot on.

If you decide to get a ride up there (from the airport or train station), take the Amalfi Drive Limo Service (tell them you heard about them from Stephanie and he will give you a good rate - he promised!) and ask for Tonino. He is a local and VERY professional and courteous. Tonino showed us around the coast and spoke very good English. He went out of his way to make sure were good, even stopping with us for a small break before our train and several stops for pictures and a history lesson on the area. Contact him at [---]. I told him I would recommend him because he is truly exceptional. You won't go wrong with Tony!

We took a boat ride arranged by the hotel and it was wonderful. A nice tanning deck, champagne, nibbles, etc. We swam in the grottos and rode side by side with the dolphins. It really doesn't get any better. The workout facility was beautiful and clean. The bathrooms are very nice with great new fixtures. The beds are comfy and clean. Nothing really to complain about. The area is very quiet, but you can take a short walk to a restaurant nearby and the in hotel restauarnt is great. I think our server's name was Paolo. He gave us great recommendations on a local wine that was sublime.

I would recommend this as a top notch hotel anywhere. This is a great example of a small chic boutique hotel that delivers on its looks and promise.

We stayed at Casa Angelina for five nights in early September. It was our first time to visit the Amalfi coast. One of the factors precluding an earlier visit had been the off-putting decor of many of the other luxury hotels in the area. Casa Angelina is a breath of fresh air in this regard. The almost clinical, dazzling whiteness of the hotel which runs from the exterior through the public areas to the rooms might not suit all tastes but complements the dazzling blue of the sea and the sky.

As other members have said, the driveway is steep..imagine being on the ramp between two floors of a multi-storey carpark and then extend that image for 300 metres and throw in some hairpin bends...however, once you get used to it , it is good fun. In any event, the valet will park and retrieve your car for you. If you do intend to drive in the Amalfi area avoid hiring a large car or taking one if offered as an upgrade. All roads are very narrow, crowded with buses and are more easily negotiable in a category C or smaller car.

Our room was a suite which had a huge terrace with sun beds which avoided the need to scamble for a place on the very tight swimming pool terrace or to venture down to the seaside terrace. The hotel restaurant - piano nel cielo - is excellent and must occupy one of the best locations on the Amalfi coast especially if you can get one of the tables at the edge which affords views overlooking Positano. Breakfast is served on the same outdoor terrace. It is an excellent buffet though no matter how god it is, it was still odd to see one shameless couple raiding it to create their lunch rolls. The charming waiting staff , as you would expect from their calm and unfailing polite demeanour, ignored this display of petty meaness.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. We continued our holiday by staying in southern Tuscany in Alain Ducasse's L'Andana and Rocco Forte's Savoy in Firenze - both exceptional hotels in their own way - but the memory of Casa Angelina - in particular the location and ambiance - remained with us throughout our Italian holiday and will brighten the appraoching winter months until we can return.

We stayed at Casa Angelina for the first part of our honeymoon and can absolutely recommend it. The location is ideal, away from the busy crowds of Positano, but close enough to visit every day if you would like to. The hotel is in an ideal position so you can experience the best sunsets on the Amalfi Coast with a gorgeous view looking out onto Positano. The rooms are very comfortable and modern and we loved our huge terrace with sun loungers. We also truly enjoyed the restaurant.

Both reception and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful and were very happy to answer any questions.

We recommend renting a moped and driving the winding road along the coast- our best experience!

My husband and I booked this for a romantic weekend getaway and went on 28th July 2006 for 2 nights, while mother-in-law looked after our two young boys, so we were really looking forward to it. The place is beautiful. We were met at the airport by their own driver, Sergio, who stopped on the way to have a delicious pizza with us. He was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were met at reception with a cool drink to refresh us. The room is immaculately clean. Because we had left it quite late in making a booking, the only room available was the standard room, which was perfectly adequate for what we needed, although we did ask to look at the suite which was unbelievable, so we are hoping to book that for next year! The staff are excellent here - the service cannot be faulted. The views are amazing - we preferred staying here than in Positano - it was after all a romantic getaway weekend. Only criticism is that pool/deck size but I hear that they are going to be building another area of this. My only other tiny criticism is that although the food in the restaurant was beautifully presented, the food I had ordered lacked a bit in flavour. However, overall the whole experience was fantastic so don't let that put you off!

If you are thinking of going to try this, don't hesitate - book it and go! You will love it. It's more of a couple place though - although we did see a couple with a baby of about 9 months, I wouldn't recommend it for kids - it's better suited to couples. I dread to think what colour the room would be after our boys had been in the room, it certainly wouldn't be white!

I would definitely go back again!

My Husband and I stayed here in Aug 2006. We arrived at 1pm and was able to check into our room straight away. The reception staff were fab and spoke english better than us!!! We were given a tour around the hotel on the way to our room. When we arrived at the room our cases were already there. The room was just as nice as the photos on the website. Totally white, fresh flowers, fruit and water all provided. Also a small safe and a plasma TV. Our room (108) was on the first floor and had a great view of the sea, Positano and the small swimming pool.

We experienced a little bit of noise in the evenings at the hotel but nothing to complain about.

We walked down to the beach area, its approx 250 steps down after the hotel's lift has taken you down as far as it will go. Don't forget to take your towels with you from the swimming pool area before you go. There is a reserved area for Casa Angelina guests on a concrete area outside a cafe bar. We had a very nice lunch there.

We had a massage which was very nice, but, they don't have a private room for this. There is an area in the fitness/indoor pool area with a vertical blind drawn accross. It wasn't very private and you could hear the noise of people in the pool.

We went to Capri for the day from Positano and then looked around the shops in Positano on the way back. The hotel runs a free shuttle bus to Positano at certain times of the day.

Make sure you find the steps (at the rear of the swimming pool) that take you up into the town of Praiano, just at the top you will find a pizza place called La Brace. We had a great pizza, wine etc for around €30.

We also ate in the hotel restaurant 3 times, the food, wine and the staff were first class.

My only gripe for the whole 4 days we stayed here was our return journey to Naples. The taxi fare was €110 euros. Just as we were about to leave we found out that another couple were also airport bound and we could have shared a taxi and the cost!

I would come back to stay here again without hesitation. My only recommendation the Casa Angelina would be "to become an Adult only hotel"

Have a great time

My wife and I stayed here on Honeymoon for 7 nights in August. Its a beautiful hotel, clean, bright and modern. The views are stunning and the food is wonderful. The staff are amazing, especially Giorgio and Sandra. We had cooking lesons with the chef and both he and Paolo the restaurant manager were so nice. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is very friendly and helpful. The hotel booked some lovely trips for our us with a private mercedes and a fabuloue driver called Tonino, make sure you ask for him if you are planning on touring the area or need a transfer. One of the guys who works there even dropped my wife up to the hairdressers in a vintage mercedes to save her having to walk-now thats real service. We didnt want to leave as the place is so beautiful and peaceful-perfect for a romantic getaway. I would definately recomend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break-We absolutley loved it and cant wait to return-Book now before the secret gets out !! Enjoy
