The beautiful luminous coloured(white and blue)small Il Pino hotel, overlooking from the cosy terrace(each room has one) the blue-turqoise sea and the "il pino",the brave old tree ,quiet sentinel of the ambience, conquered instantly our hearts.
Mena, the kind and smiley chief of the reception, and the other young and very usefull members of the staff helped us a lot from the very first moment of the check in ,mornings and evenings during our stay, till the last moment of check out with all what we needed .
The room, bright and spotless clean, functional and pleasant, quiet, bathroom with all what you need and satisfactory size, and the terrace which every morning pushed us directly in the best mood and supplied at sleep time the sweetest dreams ,after watching from there the great views .
Praiano is a quiet nice place, midd distance between the two extremities of the Amalfi coast circuit.
We will warmly recommend this hotel to everyone who intend to spend a great holiday on Amalfi coast.

We stayed four nights at Il Pino and would certainly recommend it. We had a stunning view from the terrace overlooking the Amalfi coast. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good quality and served out on the terrace overlooking the sea. Rooms were clean and comfortable and we were not disturbed by any noise from other guests. Praiano is a quieter town about half way between Amalfi and Positano and was a great base for us. The local bus stops very close to the hotel and will take you to Amalfi or Positano for 1 euro or to Sorrento for 1.80 euro. Considering the location on the Amalfi coast it was good value for money. There was no English language TV channel available but then you have the view to look at instead.......

Stayed recently at the Il Pino in Praiano along the amalfi coast and would highly recommended the hotel for the attentive service and stunning views from the balcony (all rooms have a good size balcony). As was mentioned in a previous review, the walls do seem to be thin, not that we heard any noise from fellow guests but we did get a call at 11:30 one evening to say that a guest complained about us using a hairdryer....we got caught in a heavy downpour on our way back from dinner. One important tip! do try and get to the adjoining restaurant...it's not owned or affiliated by Il Pino but works as an addition to the hotel and serves absolutely delicious food with even better views, a little pricey but really worth breaking the bank for.

Have returned from a 2 night stay. Bearing in mind this is a 3* Hotel this hidden gem surpassed our expectations. There are no frills, however, the location and views from every room and the dining/breakfast area are uninterrupted and stunning. Priaiano is totally unspoilt, with the most amazing reasonably restaurants and welcoming locals. We travelled from Naples by taxi but returned by local bus to Sorrento then connecting bus direct to airport for a total of 13 Euros in 2-3 hours.

My partner and I stayed here for a week in September 06 (I've only just registered to review - hence the delay!)

Overall I liked Il Pino. Bad points first - the walls are paper thin,
you can literally hear your neighbours sneeze. The staff spoke practically no English so sometimes when breakfast was served it was slightly odd and not necessarily as requested....

However, they're minor points - despite the language barrier, the staff were all really polite and eager to help, and I speak no Italian so I can't complain.

The best thing about this hotel is that you're guaranteed a balcony with a view over the sea. The balconies are quite small and not very private but it doesn't matter as the view is so stunning. The rooms get the sun in the afternoon/evening, so you can come back after a day out and watch a beautiful sunset.

The room itself was quite large and very clean, bathroom ok - a good but pretty standard hotel room.

Praiano itself is beautiful. It's much quieter than Positano, but it's so easy to travel between the towns on the local bus if you want
somewhere a bit busier. At first I was rather taken by the glamour of Positano and we spent two evenings there and one day at the beach,
but ultimately I was glad we were based in Praiano. It's less pretentious and touristy, and more like real Italy.

Overall, I'd recommend visiting the Amalfi Coast as it's possibly the
most beautiful place I've ever been. I'd recommend Il Pino as a great
base for a holiday there.
