We stayed at Hotel Margherita for 2 nights in March. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary in the Amalfi Coast. The owners made it very special for us. We received a very warm welcome (drinks and rose petals). We also enjoyed the restaurant; very good pasta and sea food. As we left very early in the morning; they also packed "pocket breakfast" for us. We will definitely visit again.

I stayed at the Hotel Margarita for one night, the service, rooms, staff and food were excellent.

Our room was huge and had a fantastic view.

My friends and I unanimously agreed the food was some of the best we had eaten on our holiday.

Highly recommend.

From the moment we arrived until our departure, we received 5* treatment from this 3* hotel. Nothing was too much for any member of staff and their warmth, friendliness and professionalism made leaving very hard. However, it was my first visit to the Amalfi Coast and we didn't have long enough so we have promised ourselves to return to this hotel again next year. Strongly recommended.

Really can't fault any aspect of the service by the staff at Margherita. From the moment we arrived they couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The room itself was a good size with a nice balcony (which was safe for a toddler). The location was quiet, with great views, and a short walk from a small supermarket. The availability of parking was unusual in the area and extremely useful. I'd strongly recommend this hotel.

This was the second time at Hotel Margherita in Praiano. We love the Amalfi Coast and go frequently. The first time at Hotel Margheita was two yrs ago when we were travelling with my sister and brother-in-law who had been visiting from the States. We had found this hotel convenient for the price and for the parking and pleasant for the very good food the very helpful and friendly staff. So we were happy to stay there again this spring. The standard rooms are nice, the deluxe room we had for one of the nights was splendid. The view of the sea from the rooms is spetacular. Breakfast is great with freshly squeezed orange juice, excellent expresso (hard to find in hotels) and gluten free bread and cereal for my sister who needs a celiac diet. The staff is just as helpful and friendly as we had remembered.
The only problem is the logistics in the hotel. The sections of the hotel are joined together in a complicated way and although there is an elevator, one cannot avoid steps completely. We often got lost trying to find the pool or the terrace for dining.
All four of us think the restaurant was a bit better two yrs. ago, though the quality is still good, but the service is slow. The waiters try their best, but the fact that dishes arrive from the kitchen via a dumb waiter may be a factor in the slow service.
As for Praiano, the staff drops you off at the bus stop in Praiano where you can catch a bus for Amalfi or anywhere actually along the coast. And they pick you up on your return. They are very very helpful.

A family run hotel perched high on the cliffs of Praiano, the Hotel Margherita was everything we could have asked for when staying on the Amalfi Coast. Located between the tourist spots of Positano and Amalfi, the hotel was well appointed, clean and comfortable, as should be expected. The surprises came in the quality of the food. Normally, I am one to give hotel restaurants a pass, or if it looks decent, I will eat there out of convenience. However, of the three nights we spent in the hotel, we ate at the hotel restaurant EVERY night - it was that good! There is nothing I would not recommend among the menu - which as befits a good restaurant has daily specials that really do change daily. It made for many difficult choices, as I would have loved to try more. The wine list was an additional surprise, with bottles ranging from 18 Euro for local Amalfi wines to hundreds of euros for St Emillion Grand Crus. The wine list was at least 8 pages long with representatives from throughout Italy, France and a handful from Spain. Truly impressive, and very unexpected.

The service was impeccable throughout - I was unable to carry my son's stroller up any steps if one of the staff was within eyesight. The staff was always ready to answer questions, and seemed to truly enjoy helping and hosting, while not being overbearing. Additionally, the hotel has a van which they will dispatch to take you to the "main square" in Praiano where local busses can be caught to Amalfi or Positano; they will also pick you up again if you call.

There is a small pool and sun deck (unheated, unfortunately), and dinner is served on an open-air terrace overlooking the Mediterranean during warmer weather (which we sadly couldn't experience this trip). A quaint lemon garden just off the terrace offers charm, and I suspect a source of lemon peel for what I am fairly certain was home-made limoncello. The inside dining room offered impressive views, and the view from our room's balcony was to die for. I would recommend this hotel to any friends, and would gladly stay here again.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for the ocean view rooms - they are worth it.
