Very cordial and pleasant welcome with drinks and homemade delicacies by the owners of the hotel. Very neat , renovated, air conditioned chambers with balcony and sea vieuw. Vast breakfast with fresh fruit, yoghourt, bread, wafers,... Also possibility to have a delicious diner with fish specialities at request. Situated on the national road along the coast, 100 metres from town. Well starting point for hiking the path of the Gods. Possibility to swim at the public beach in the village. One speaks well English.

My partner and i stayed at Pellegrino Pensione for the last week in October with my partner's sister and brother in law. None of us can recommend it enough.
Whilst we found the Amalfi Coast second to none in beauty, our stay at the hotel just perfected our holiday. In all our years of travelling we have never encountered such a host as Luigi, nothing was too much trouble for him. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the restaurant on the top floor had views to die for. We had breakfast every morning on the top floor veranda overlooking the sea, enjoying locally grown fruits and Luigi's homemade preserves - which were delicious especially the fig and chocolate!
We found Praiano a great base for exploring. Situated between Positano and Amalfi it made trips to Sorento, Pompei, Revello etc all within easy distance and although we had a car we found it easy to reach these destinations by the local buses. Most of these towns have limited parking and so the bus can be an attractive option, however in October parking wasn't a problem. Luigi does offers free parking in the hotel garage so you can leave the car there and bus it, for example - we took a day trip to Capri, taking the 15 min bus ride to Positano and then the boat to Capri, this was cheaper than parking for the day in Positano.
We will definately re-visit Luigi on our next trip to the Amalfi Coast.

My husband and I enjoyed celebrating our first year anniversary touring Italy. One of the best parts of the trip was visiting the Almalfi coast and staying at Pensione Pellegrino. The service that Luigi provided was outstanding. The beautiful ocean view from our outdoor terrace was beautiful. One of the best parts was the fact that we were able to park our rental car safely in their garage. Luigi's culinary skills are also delicious as we enjoyed them each day. We will be sure to return the Pensione Pellegrino on our next trip to Italy.

Fantastic place to stay and Luigi's hospitality is second to none. The hotel room is spacious, clean and very pleasant. Pellegrino's restaurant at the top floor is one of the most charming places for a relaxed meal, offering stunning views of the Amalfi coastline meandering through Praiano, especially at dusk. Great food and thanks Luigi for the delicious apple pie! Really, there is no need to cramp out at Positano with everyone else. Stay in idyllic Praiano and move around to and from Positano, Amalfi and Ravello with ease. Buses stop and pick up passengers regularly outside Pensione Pellegrino, and if you're in a hurry, Luigi is happy to offer you a ride to and from Positano. Thoroughly recommended. Top marks!

We chose Pellegrino Pensione as our base to explore the Amalfi area. Our choice was based solely on tripadvisor reviews and our thanks are due to those reviewers for what they said was as we found it. The only moan would be the road noise but closing the balcony doors eliminated most of that.
The walk into Praiano is less than ten minutes but you need to be traffic aware.
We stayed for one week and took a taxi from Naples to Praiano and a taxi back to Naples at the end of our stay. The cost of this taxi was Eu 130.00 each way. For the rest of the week we used the buses and a train when we went to Pompeii. The buses stop right outside the Pensione and run a fairly frequent service to Amalfi one way and Sorrento the other. A smaller local bus does Praiano to Positano and back, this bus also tours around Praiano and goes down into Positano whereas the main Sorrento to Amalfi bus stays on the "main" road. Luigi can supply tickets for the main bus, the local one you pay onboard.
The weather in early Oct was lovely about 27 degrees and sunny on six days and just a light jumper needed on two nights. We found the coastline vistas superb, the restaurants good to mediocre, the going difficult, and the pockets hit hard !
There are hundreds of steps as you would expect from a town built on a cliff and often standing room only on the buses that never go in a straight line as the whole road twists and turns and you need to be able to hang on.
Overall a good holiday made better by the welcome and help from the charming Luigi and the relaxing feeling when "home" at the Pensione.

We stayed 7 days. We have never been treated like that in any hotel in the world! Luigi, and his family staff, does everything to make you feel at home in his house ( share his computer with you, pick you up with his car from the restaurant when it is raining, fix you a surprise dinner.....). Forget the 2 stars classification! The hotel is very well located, very attractive, and super clean. Valet parking is free. Rooms are large and have superb view. And Luigi is the best concierge of the 6 stars hotels!
