We stayed there for 5 nights. We traveled there from Rome. We took a train from the Termini to Salerno, then a ferry to Amalfi, then a SITA bus to Praiano. They are near the Fermata 4 bus stop. We got off too early and had to walk on the road with suitcases and then catch a taxi costing 10 euros for 2 minutes. I wish we had known better where to get off the bus but most people taxi in from Naples and we didn't ask about the bus stop before hand. If we get the chance to return we will come in from Naples like everyone else. When you use the bus you need to wave them down. To get them to stop there is a button you can push. You can get the tickets from the hotel.
They warmly welcomed us and gave us a great dessert. The breakfast is included. It is awesome!! They serve yogurt, toast and jams, fresh fruit, juice, eggs, cheese, ham etc. Luigi and his staff are very attentive. They upgraded our room to a suite which was fantastic. Two large clean rooms with two bathrooms, one of the bathrooms was large. The shower in the large bathroom was pretty neat with the ability to choose different spray locations. I really liked the furniture. The bed was very firm. The AC worked but my husband likes it super cold and it wasn't. The view from the terrace was beautiful. I loved sitting out there. Very romantic! There is free wi-fi. They have an elevator but I took the stairs a lot which are marble.
On the top floor is a restaurant with a large terrace. The view was perfect every morning. They also serve dinner there. We ate there all 5 nights. The food was awesome!! I am normally not a seafood fan. I tried all different kinds of new to me seafood and loved it! My favorites were the sword fish, blue fish and sole fish. It was seriously tasty! However, dinner comes at a fixed price. You must ask for it. There is no menu. It was expensive for us, and had we asked the expense we probably would have eaten there once as a splurge. Lesson learned :)
We loved the location in Praiano. It is quiet and not too crowded. We walked into town to grab some food at the small grocery and there are a couple tourist shops as well with ceramics that I thought were at a better price than in Positano. The beach near the church is a hike down. It is 10 euro per person for a chair and an umbrella. The beach staff has a boat to give you a ride to another beach where the hotel staff can pick you up. The hotel staff will give you beach towels.
We took the SITA bus to Sorrento and then a train to Pompeii one day. Another day we took the bus to Positano and then a ferry to Capri Island. Another day we walked a mile to another beach in south Praiano that has a scuba shop called Centro Sub Costiera Amalfitana. My husband had a great dive and was very happy. That beach was in a cove so the sunlight time was shorter than the previous beach.
I really loved this hotel! Luigi and his family do a wonderful job.
