“Charming hotel with exceptional warmth”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2011

Trip advisor led us to this absolutely charming small hotel in the quiet village of Praiano. Instead of staying in the pricier hotels in nearby Positano, we chose to stay here and could not have been more pleased!! Luigi and his family have created a beautiful hotel draped with bouiganvilla, scented jasmine and roses. Outside our simple, efficient and very clean room, the view from our balcony was breathtaking. We could walk to La Strada, a great restaurant in the quiet town of Praiano or catch a bus right outside our hotel to explore nearby towns. Pellegrino’s outdoor terrace dining room as well as its inside dining room are beautiful. When we first arrived, Luigi greeted us with an awesome homemade cake and complimentary wine while we enjoyed Italian music and breathtaking views. Each morning, he served us a wonderful breakfast of homemade breads, preserves, fresh fruits, juice and yogurt. We knew we were somewhere special!! Luigi is the ultimate host-making every effort to take care of every need--bus tickets and schedules, access to the internet, travel suggestions, etc. He even gave us a ride into Positano so we didn’t have to wait on the bus! His kind, warm heart is the icing on the cake!! He knows several languages making it very helpful and interesting to have conversation with him.

His rates were very reasonable, too. The only drawback is that you hear motor scooters and traffic outside at night so you might want to bring a sound machine if you are a very light sleeper. We did and slept like babies! Pellegrino is a diamond that you don’t want to miss!!

Room Tip: rooms facing sea are fabulous

My wife & I stayed in a double room at the Pellegrino for 4 nights, and found it to be the perfect place for vacationing the Amalfi Coast. Praiano is very pretty, but much less hectic and touristy than Positano & Amalfi. We easily traveled from right outside the hotel to Amalfi town, Positano, Capri and Pompei.
Luigi and his family were super hosts, going out of their way to make our stay the best it could be, with transportation guidance and insights into timing and arranging our schedule. Luigi is a great chef, and the seafood is marvelous. If you aren't hungry the views from the rooms and the dining room terrace are fantastic. Many thanks for making our stay special.

Made to feel very welcome from the start, good sized rooms, wonderful views over the bay. Only a couple of minutes walk to some good restaurants like La Strada and Gennareo further along the road. We had complimentary wine and cake when we arrived and the breakfast was a feast! One small niggle we arrived on the balcony for a nightcap and sat for 15 minutes but were not approached to ask if we would like a drink - note: never be shy in asking if the English would like a drink - we invariably do! :) we stayed in quite a few hotels on the amalfi coast on our walking holiday and this was the best!

We spent 4 nights at Pellegrino Pensione and had a delightful time! Luigi and family were so helpful, kind, and met our every need. Our simple rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable with a beautiful balcony overlooking the Mediterranean. The bus is so convenient, right in front of the hotel, and walking to town is only 5 minutes. The breakfasts were delicious and Luigi also made the perfect dinner for us. We would love to return again!

I stopped alongside the road to take a picture of the gorgeous view from the road...and there it was...Da Pellegrino! Was greeted warmly and given a fabulous last-minute deal on a beautiful single room with a terrace overlooking the Sea. The owners were incredibly kind people; very nice to talk to! The room was comfortably appointed, the hotel quiet overall, and located close enough to Praiano on the main "Hwy". The dining room view ALONE is worth the cost! AMAZING! Fantastic breakfast served up by generous hosts! Loved my stay...would stay there again...will recommend to friends!

On reaching Pensione Pellegrino you know you are in for one big treat. You will receive a welcome as that of a long lost friend. Immediately you will feel as one of the family.
This hotel is one of the best we have stayed in with good sized, airy and very clean rooms. Luigi and his wonderful family ensure that you are short of nothing, with very genuine family hospitality shown from the very beginning of your stay. Your breakfast is a treat of all things fresh and local with absolutely no pressure to hurry as in a large hotel.
When you venture into the village of Priaino you only have to mention the name of Rispoli and Pensione Pellegrino and you have made another friend.
We will certainly try to return for another dose of the Pensione Pellegrino.

We stayed for two nights and had a warm welcome. The hospitality was great. As the host found out it was my wifes birthday, he himself baked a delicious cake with fresh fruit. The busstop in front of the hotel was very comfortable for us as walkers. Also the fact that the host gave us different bustickets, and we could return the tickets we did not use. The terrras at the roof is was a good place at the end of the day in this very clean hotel. The breakfast was very good and more coplete then we had in the other hotels: different homemade marmalades, fruit and good really fresh bread.
