Don't expect very good Chinese when you go to this place, but I haven't found any in the Naples area. It is a nice break from Italian though and the service is very good. The steamed pork dumplings and vegetable spring rolls were decent. But the rest of the food was just not spicy enough for our palates.

Xin Da is invaluable as a source of non-Italian food in the Pozzuoli (really, in Arco Felice) area. When you eat there, the food is decidedly not Italian. There is no pizza or pasta with tomato sauce, no caprese salad. That is the best that can be said of this restaurant. That, and the fact that the newly remodeled interior is a decided improvement over the old. Presumably, they will find the will within themselves in coming days to actually turn on the huge air conditioners they paid to install (unless those are fake, for some reason) so that the temperature within will dip beneath 10,000 C. The food will be familiar with anyone who has dined in a Chinese restaurant in the American midwest: bland, starchy, salty, containing very few ingredients of any nutritional value. All this, with the added bonus of MSG not being illegal in Italy (or, maybe it is and no one cares?) This restaurant is reliable: I have eaten there 5 times and each time found a hair in one of my dishes. Most recently, it was on my shrimp chips, which in addition to containing said follicular material, had the added bonus of not actually being made fresh, and also of being super stale and sad. Order whatever you want, it will all kind of taste the same. Most of the seafood is fresh (this is the Naples area, and you get lynched if you serve frozen seafood) so best to go with the shrimp covered in tasteless gloop rather than some other meat covered in… well you get it. For appetizers, I humbly recommend the steamed shrimp or pork dumplings, the freshness of which the restaurant doesn't even try to fake. Ours came 10 seconds after we ordered them, before even the water and beer (they brought us the wrong kind of beer as well). The staff is friendly and polite, and no doubt puzzled as to why they have to keep on making this terrible farce of Chinese food for the foreigners while eating something delicious and homemade in the back.
