Wonderful staff - extremely helpful, knowledgable and friendly. Magnificent views from the very comfortable seaview rooms. Terrace and sun deck areas are very pleasant.
Breakfast good but very limited selection of prepared fresh fruits. Fruit juices are not fresh - disappointing given the abundance of beautiful fresh fruits in Italy.
Really enjoyed our stay here.

Stayed here on our honeymoon for 5 nights and loved it. Great location with beautiful views over Positano, huge room with jacuzzi bath which exceeded expectations, delicious breakfast, lovely sundeck/pool and the pool guy was the best, so attentive. The only negative was the reception staff. Although friendly we found them a little unhelpful/unknowledgeable when it came to planning/booking activities. Despite this, a great stay overall, we were sad to leave but will definitely be back here next time in Positano!!

didn't know what to expect. reviews of the hotel were good and bad. I only have good things to say. everyone was very nice. the room was spacious and very clean. the pool was large. the breakfast was fit for a king. Now the view from the balcony. It was breathtaking. I couldn''t stop crying from the beauty before my eyes. Leaving the door open all nite with the sound of the piano coming from the outside bar and then the sound of the sea, made for one restful nite. We would come back this hotel in a minute. It certainly was the highlight of our 18 day 40th anniversary trip.

Room Tip: stayed on the floor right below the parking. It was next to the elavator and you couldn't even hear it.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights earlier this month on our honeymoon, and both absolutely loved it. Our only regret was that we didn’t stay longer.

Location
I reckon the Marincanto has one of the best locations in Positano. It’s only 5 minutes’ walk into town (takes a bit longer on the way back as it’s uphill), and has the most amazing views of the sea, beach and town. There’s a private staircase that leads down to the beach, too.

Room
I had emailed a few months before to request a room with a view of the sea and the town, and that’s exactly what we got. The room itself (number 228) was huge, with windows overlooking the town. The balcony was amazing – to the front it overlooked the sun terrace and the sea, and to the left was the same view of Positano that you see on all the postcards.

Pool
The pool was one of the main reasons we chose the Marincanto, as many places in Positano don’t have one. It’s a pretty good size, and at one end there are Jacuzzi jets. There are a couple of different sunbathing terraces, so there were always plenty of loungers available. The pool guy was always around to get towels and drinks, plus every day he came around with free snacks and treats from the kitchen.

Food
The breakfast buffet was great. There was plenty of choice – pastries, eggs, cheeses, meats, breads, croissants, yoghurt, fruit etc. You could eat inside or out on the lemon terrace, which had lovely sea views. We had lunch a couple of times and one night we had dinner on our balcony. The food was slightly more expensive than in town, but it was delicious.

Service
All the staff at the hotel are fantastic, from the receptionists to the waitresses to the pool guy. Everyone always had a smile and was ready to help you. One afternoon there was a wedding party on the sun terrace. As it was directly in front of our room, it was a little noisy, but it finished at about 8pm so it wasn’t a problem. The hotel sent us a bottle of Prosecco and a note to apologise for the noise, though, which was a lovely gesture.

We stayed in this hotel to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, and we do not regret staying there.
The location is great, you have access to the beach and to the village of Positano. We had dinner once at the hotel terrace and it was simply amazing (great view/setting, delicious food, and live music!).
However, the highlight of our trip was Enza, the wonderful lady at the front desk. She was very helpful throughout our stay, giving us tips and recommending the must see places during our short stay. Thanks to her, we took back home with us great memories from the Almafi coast!
Few things though to highlight:
- I didn't get a room with a sea view and I regretted that; pay the extra, it makes all the difference.
- The rooms are average/ok
- No kind gesture or mention from the hotel to congratulate us on our 10 y anniversary, while the other hotels that we stayed in during our trip, really surprised us with their generosity (free sparkling wine, fruit platter, upgrade of the room...)
