There are pluses and minuses to this hotel. The WiFi connection is horrible. the mattresses are 6 inches of brick. If you have a bad back this is definitely not the hotel for you. The other potential negative is a few hundred stairs to get down to your room so when you come up in the morning you will be hot and sweaty and smelly.

The positive is that it is in a beautiful location. It is very quiet. It feels like you are in a very special location and easy access to the beach. We thought the breakfast was fine because it had plenty of protein in fresh sliced meats and cheeses, plenty of sweets, good coffee and tea. I don't know what else people are expecting really.

It is a very easy walk from the hotel to the center of Positano

The hotel is average but the location for us was very good because of the proximity to the beach. Also the fornillo beach is less crowded than the main beach of positano. I suggest you call the hotel 20minutes before you arrive and ask for a porter to help you with your luggage. Going to the hotel will take about 500 steps down to the hotel. The hardest part is leaving the hotel because its 500 steps but going up! But if you are fit i dont think it will be a problem.

We love the breakfast here! The fresh fruits, yogurt, scrambled eggs, bread, fruit juice, coffee, sausage or bacon, jamon and cheese.

Had dinner here in hotel pupetto. They give 10 percent discount to all their hotel guests.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was good for 3. I found the room spacious. The bathroom was clean but outdated. Towels are old. We would definitely stay here again for the promixity to the beach and the yummy breakfast.

The hotel like many in the Amalfi Coast area has a certain faded charm reminiscent of the ‘60’s. it has a lovely situation, friendly staff and an above average restaurant if we gloss over the breakfast offering. But, and it is a big but. The #1 thing I expect from a hotel before all else is a good nights sleep. Both I and my wife awoke every time we turned during our sleep on the aged mattresses. Whenever you adjust, you can feel the mattress wires making pressure points on your body. The bathroom was good with an excellent shower which unfortunately always flooded the floor. But after showering the towels for your use are threadbare and hard having lost their softness many moons ago. Finally, the bedroom doors are thin and as the corridors are all tiled, noise travels far. Light sleepers will be consistently awoken by outside activity.

One was left with the impression of a decent hotel where management is now cutting corners too far to maximise profit. It just need to up its game and buy some adequate mattresses!

My husband and I spent two nights at Hotel Pupetto in October 2017. We used tripadvisor to make the decision and it was as advertised. Away from the crowded public beach area with all the appropriate amenities if you don't want to leave at all. The room was large and had a balcony facing the water - it was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The one misstep we had was - we had taken a bus from Amalfi, and didn't realize what an all out schlep it would be to get there. We didn't know to call the porter once we reached the public beach. However, that isn't unique to Pupetto, it's just a little further off the beaten path. I would DEFINITELY recommend staying here! We also had amazing weather in October.

Room Tip: Ask for Ocean view.

Brilliant location - away from the bustle of Positano but only just around the corner and reached by a beautiful walk. Lovely staff and great food. I’d highly recommend and happily return. I would say it’s totally unsuited to any but those happy to and capable of some regular exercise and some pretty steep steps. Make sure you ask at Reception where to meet your return airport car thus avoiding the mountain hike back up at the end of your stay. Beach cafes exceptional. Cocktails ok.

Room Tip: Sea view with balcony is essential and beautiful.
