We stayed here for a week in September, 2013. Actually there are 7 units that are rented. Each is private and distinct from one another. Our unit was old and the furnishings in the living room and other rooms were not too comfortable or functional; however, that being said, the terrace, where we spent the bulk of our time was spacious with a spectacular view of the Amalfi Coast. We were about 90 steps above the sea with a view of the beach to our left. The place was very secure and quiet. The AC in the bedroom worked very well and the bed in the master bedroom was comfortable. There were 2 bathrooms which was nice. The kitchen wasn't fancy but adequate to cook. The unit was extremely secure. I wouldn't recommend the place for more that 2 people since the second bedroom had no windows and the beds looked uncomfortable. Also, a word about the steps. Getting to the apartment (Unit #2) from the street above was 244 steps down--which, of course, means 244 steps up. To get down to the ferry docks and beach/beach bars and restaurants is 90 more steps. If you're not in fair shape this will definitely be a problem for you. There are porters available to carry your luggage up and down the steps. (Depending on the porter, count on 8-10 Euros per bag. The staff at the apartment are very nice and helpful and readily available. The apartment was very clean except for the bottom of the shower curtain in on bathroom being a little mildewed. Positano is an old town with old buildings so I wasn't taken aback by the apartment not being too modern. I would recommend this to healthy people who don't mind getting exercise every day climbing many stairs. Also, one additional tip. If you are renting one of the units, ask to get photos of the exact apartment you are renting. Each is different. We got a look at Unit #1 and its kitchen was tiny, unlike the one in our apartment. So you won't necessarily get exactly what is depicted on the website. If this is a concern, ask for photos of the exact unit you will be assigned to.
