“Great location and wonderful family”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

I can only reiterate what others have said about Celeste, Paola and Francesca. They are wonderful, welcoming and helpful,. They helped us with restaurant arragments and logistics for hiking and day trips. We stayed in the apartment at the bottom of the house. It had a small fridge and stove, which was helpful for morning coffe and snacks, and a small living room. We enjoyed having the extra space even though there were only two of us. The balcony is huge and beautiful. The location is very convenient because it is a short walk to the SITA bus stop, which we used frequently. There is also a stairway close by that does down to a delit where you can get yogurst, sandwiches, etc., with a great bakery across the way called La Zaggara that has wonderful croissants. This property is a good value for the price. The only drawback it no internet access, but for us it was nice to have a 5 day break from our i-devices. I has to cancel my original reservations for September and re-book for October and they were very gracious and helpful with that. They also arranged for a driver to pick us up at the Naples train station. I recommend doing that because navigating the Circumvesa and SITA bus with lugagge after a long flight would probably be a bit much.

Room Tip: The rooms on the level just below the entrance probably have the best panoramic views, but all of th...

Thank you Celeste, Paola and Francesca for our wonderful 5 nights at La Tavolozza. Our group of 8 can't stop talking about how perfect our stay was. Such a super location in the center of Positano, with clean rooms and outstanding service from such a caring family. I will continue to recommend this property to any who travel to the Amalfi coast, and I hope we will be back some day soon!

We stayed in the Royal apartment in October 2012 and loved everything about this hotel.
Celeste, Paola and Francesca made us feel like family...they lugged our bags up and down stairs, provided loads of helpful information, brought coffee in the morning, made calls to restaurants, etc, etc etc.
Our rooms were very clean and the view from the balcony incredible....it was hard to say goodbye.

My husband and I were in Positano in mid September 2012. We learned of Residence la Tavolozza from Rick Steves' book and friends who had stayed there a few years before. Our room was very spacious. The best thing was the friendliness and helpfulness of Celeste and her daughters and son. They called restaurants to make reservations and answered any and all questions. My favorite breakfasts, from our 17 days in southern Italy and Sicily, were the ones Celeste and her family served us on our private balcony (with a beautiful view). Everything was fresh and tasty and beautifully presented. I don't know if we will make it back to Positano, but Celeste and her family are individuals I would enjoy saying hello to again.

We spent 3 nights here and it was wonderful. The family, as others have said, make the stay and that is saying a lot given how gorgeous Positano and the Amalfi Coast are. They have all the information that you need for tours, restaurants etc and really seem to want you to have a memorable visit. They even helped me get medical attention that I would have not been able to access without their help.

La Tavollozza is in a perfect location in the middle of town so it is close to both the beach and the bus stop and easy walking to all of the shops. Positano is a great base for touring the whole area. Boats take you to Capri and other towns along the Coast as well as regular bus serrvice.

Our room was as others have said comfortable with an amazing view and balcony, where we spent a lot of time relaxing and enjoying a glass of wine.

A perfect choice for a place to stay to visit Positano and the Amalfi Coast.

We are a family of 3 and we stayed in an apartment with a big balcony area for one week. We had a kitchenette and bathroom, main bedroom and the other room where our son slept had a dining table too. Everything was clean and we felt we had lots of room. Francesca and her family were lovely and helpful; nothing was too much trouble.
We loved the location of the residence. It is very central and that made easy the walks up and down to visit other family staying in Positano. Also didn't have to carry our luggage too far ( we know some people struggled with other locations). There is a great deli about 100metres away which sold all our needs for breakfast etc, so that was easy.
This is my first written review because I just had to recomend La Tavolozza!!

Room Tip: Apartment great for families.

We stayed here for 4 nights at €150 per night (no breakfast).
The service was great from our first email enquiry to our check out. It is a family run establishment & everyone we met was friendly & helpful.
It is located quite close to the beach but still has an excellent view.
Francesca helped us to arrange a guide for the Path of the Gods which I highly recommend.
We got the train to Salerno and then the ferry to Positano, much preferable to the bus on those windy roads.
We hope to come here again, next time for longer & will definitely stay here again.
