We stayed at Villa Gabrisa on our honeymoon in June 2019. First of all, I was impressed by how clean everything was. Our room was bright and had a balcony overlooking the sea. The staff was so friendly, from the receptionist (Carolina) to our waiters in the restaurant. The food was excellent btw. My husband's linguini and clam sauce was the best he's ever had. We had to take the Interno Positano bus 10 minutes to the city center, but we didn't mind. It was very cheap transportation, and it was kind of nice being a bit away from the crowded center of town. Loved this hotel and would highly recommend it!

Room tip: I asked for a room with a balcony and view.

No words can describe Villa Gabrisa. It was beyond anything I could have imagined.

My wife and I went for honeymoon and arrived to be greeted by Claudia with cold ice tea! We went to our room, 309 with a terrace view, that was at the top. It was smaller, but perfect for two people.

As we walked out from our room, we had THE MOST incredible view! No words can describe it - ocean, coastline, and mountain ridge.

The hotel was pristine, we heard no noise being at the top, and our rooms were cleaned 2x per day! They even prepped our room for sleep.

All the staff were so nice!!

On top of that, the restaurant was BETTER THAN a Michelin star restaurant we went to. The food from beginning to end was amazing and we even got to meet chef Emilio. Breakfast too was also amazing!

Roberta, Arcangel, Francesco and Claudia were all so nice and made us feel so welcome.

Location was perfect - slight walk to main streets down steps if you like walking and a a little removed from more busy streets so it is not crazy busy. The perfect place!

No words can describe this place. God blessed us with this heavenly location.

We could have stayed to a month more.

I would rate this number one in Positano to stay. Please go and enjoy!!

We were highly disappointed in Villa Gabrisa. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel, just really run down and smelly throughout the hotel. The elevator nearly gave us a claustrophobia attack. They have a 12pm check out and when we asked for 10 more minutes to gather our belongings, a rude lady with bright red hair at the front desk said no, we have others checking in. LOL... so they're checking in exactly at 12:10pm? Other hotels are so much kinder and more lenient. This place is also just messy. A cat and one of the owners sleeps on old furniture in the lobby and they have junk all over the place. In the rooms you feel like they're 20 years old except with a newer shower. The worst was the noise. The walls are PAPER THIN and you hear everything from neighboring rooms. I would give it 1 star but the showers were nice (at least in the junior suite). By the way, we stayed in the junior suite, I can't imagine how awful the regular rooms are.

We are sorry that your experience, in our family boutique hotel, has not been as expected. Unfortunately, experiences are very subjective and sometimes the choice of the hotel is not appropriate to the personal needs and taste. From what we understand, maybe you were looking for a larger and more modern hotel with a minimalistic style, obviously the opposite of what we are, a small family-style hotel in a historic building of the town. Our guests have also a convenient check-in and check-out times. Our staff needs time to prepare and check adequately a room, considering the limited time between a check out at 12.00 and a check in at 2.00 pm, especially in high season like now. I think that every guest expects to have their room ready at the check in time. The rooms have just been renovated and maintenance is continuous, the furnishings chosen reflects the style of the building, whether they are of Italian craftsmanship or antiques, always to seek a continuity with the historical period of the building, despite having some modern elements inside. All our guests and especially the owners of the building are free to be able to rest in our sofa area when ever they prefer. As well described, we are a pet friendly hotel and our Persian cat is resident in this building and for people which are having issues with animals, again, maybe this was not be an appropriate choice. We always thank our guests, because of choosing our hotel, they support our family business, the 25 members of the staff and also the many Italian companies which they provide their handcrafted luxury products used in our hotel.

Myself and my husband stayed at this hotel for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. We stayed in room 305 which is a junior suite with a huge terrace and sea view - we would highly recommend staying in this room if you had the opportunity to do so as it is gorgeous. The bathroom has a double shower (with mood lighting) and a fully electronic toilet. One thing we found useful was a free smartphone that you could use during your stay to make calls or use the internet - you can also take this out with you which is a really nice touch. Would highly recommend dinner in the restaurant downstairs as well! All in all, a great hotel.

The staff is super friendly and always willing to help. The breakfast had a nice spread. Our cell service was not that great in Florence, but the hotel offers free cell phones to use.

No complaints about this hotel other than pay a little extra to get a room above the standard one. The standard one is basically an attic and it is very tight. I’m 5’8” and it was kind of small/tight for me. The balcony is nice though.
