“The absolute best! Majestic and Peaceful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

If you want to have an authentic, relaxing and truly breathtaking experience - this is the place to stay. Spotless, comfortable with gracious hosts, this location is away from the bustle. The views are worth ever step you must take plus it is close to the Path of the Gods. Roberto's cousin is a master chef with a cozy Ristorante Il Ritrovo within walking distance in Monteperuso. The best food of the trip - the gnocchi con le vongole brought tears to my eyes.

I give an unconditional recommendation to this lovely B&B.

Me and my wife went to Italy for our honey moon and we spent a week end in Positano in this amazing place called Mamma Rosa, OMG definitely has been the highlights of our honey moon!
we are so happy that the first thing i have done when i came back home is to write this review!!
The service is lovely and when you think about Italy and warmth here it is what you are thinking of!
Mamma Rosa!!! the view it's a million dollar view and it was amazing waking up in the morning and look the sea and village down below the hill!
It was clean and quiet, the rooms were decorated with style and the bed was so comfortable that i didn't want to leave the room for a moment!
One night Mamma Rosa made especially for us a dinner based on local fish and it was so delicious that i wanted to cry!!!
anyway what else can i say? just go there and try it yourself, you wont be disappointed!

After negotiation the 200 steps to the B&B we were treated to a super room with amazing views. The owner, Melania, was great. Private bathroom but not ensuite.

We would definately recommend to others as long as you are comfortable with climbing the steps.

Wow what a wonderful place to stay. the warm and helpful greeting you get from Melania is first class. She evens carries your bags for you. the views are out of this world and makes the steps all worth while. the rooms are very comfortable and everything is very clean . As well as eating out in a couple of the great restaurants in the village we cooked while we were there in the well equipped kitchen and Melania even gave us a large basket of fruit and veg from her own garden. she organised trips for us and made our honeymoon a fantastic experience. I can highly recommend Mama Rosa and we will definitley be going back.

Staying at B&B MAMA ROSA was a real treat!!! When we reserved the stay, I figured it was a small complex but had no idea we would be getting such royal accommodations!!!

When we arrived, we realized that we were staying in renovated the family home of the owner! We (me & my fiance in our late 20's/early 30's, and my parents) occupied both rooms they had, with two baths, a living area, 2 porches, and a full kitchen! This place was bigger than our Atlanta condo! It was great to have such a larger area to sprawl out & relax & have a late night glass of wine! The place was beautifully renovated & sparkling clean too!!!

It is about 8-10 minutes by bus from Positano's main touristy area/and the beach but totally worth it! We could do dinner in town & catch the 10:00 bus back up to the B&B. There are a bunch of steps to climb, but are well lit at night & we were helped with our awfully heavy luggage.
For hikers, it was a great place to start numerous hikes up the mountain too!

Aside from the stay, the family is amazing!!! We were offered a family cooked dinner (4 courses) with the family's own wine! It was such a special Italian experience & SO good!! Angelo, the son, was so great & so helpful from getting us info. on hiking trails to recommending the best restaurants!

Amazing! I'd recommend MAMA ROSA's B&B to anyone!

We had the most amazing time staying here. We stayed for 2 nights but could have easily stayed longer. The view and the facilities are fantastic and will leave you speechless. Meticulously clean and comfortable B&B. It is in a very quiet and peaceful location on top of the mountain overlooking the sea. The B&B owner, Angelo, is very helpful and polite. I will definitely book again next time we are here!!! The only downside of our stay was having to leave!

Mama Rosa's has given us some of the best memories of our trip. Angelo met us for assistance with our bags and up the stairs we went wtih beautiful views from the mountain top with coastal Positano below, as well as charming gardens along the way. The beautifully renovated two bedroom/2 bath, living/dining room, kitchen and balcony gave the 4 of us plenty of room to relax and enjoy the sunrise and set. Mornings greeted us with warm croissants and homemade jams, and their homecooked italian dinner was so delicious I'm already trying to recreate it. Angelo was extremely helpful with all the tips we would need from nearby restaurants to bus schedules up and down the mountain. Our stay was more like being with family than a hotel. Highly recommended to anyone that can handle stairs. New Orleans/Atlanta
