Best location in Positano. Our room was an ‘ocean view’ and to be honest, it was the best room I’ve ever stayed in. Having a glass of wine and eating olives on the balcony in the afternoon was a big highlight for me and a nice way to take it all in.
The staff were fabulous, very accommodating. We had an early flight on the day we left so they had staff come in early to make us breakfast. It’s the little things that count… Room was super clean, beds very comfortable and bathroom was excellent.
This place was an absolute Gem!

Room Tip: Make sure you book early of you'll miss out!

Great location, friendly staff. Carmela at the front desk is fantastic. What an amazing view from the balcony. Large bathrooms and comfortable beds! A/c works very well! This place is very romantic and peaceful. Very close to the beach and access to all types of resteraunts.

The staff treat you as if you are VIP!

Room Tip: Get the beach view!

We stayed here for 3 nights during our anniversary trip, and we felt very pampered. Our room was decorated in whites and blues, very fresh and inviting. Small room, but with a balcony and wonderful view of Positano and the sea beyond. As someone else mentioned, it's high enough for the gorgeous view, yet low enough that it's easy to walk down to the beach and all the restaurants along the beach. The breakfast was very basic compared to what we had in other Italian cities, but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We would stay here again.

We booked the studio apartment which is away from the main hotel and closer to beach. Its a wonderfully spacious and amazingly clean and beautifully done up studio apartment. Fully equipped with all the amenities from washing machine, dryer, kitchen pots and pans, dishwasher, refrigerator, iron and ironing board, TV and cable(albeit only 4 English channels). Gorgeous ceramic dinning sets as well. The apartment can accommodate at least 4, although we were only 2. No balcony or view but we were so close to the beach and also the piazza was only 5 mins away as well. The wifi worked only near the window, which to be honest, sufficed for our daily browsing needs. Sometimes on our way back from the piazza, we would drop in to the main hotel lobby and chill there while connected to the wifi. They always bought out chilled water for us as soon as we came in. The kitchen already had coffee and sugar stocked and dishwasher liquid as well. The bathroom is a bit small but the spaciousness of the apartment more than makes up for it. By the way, the apartment is exactly as pictured on the website, even better in person.

For breakfast it was required to go to the main hotel. It is cold breakfast with croissants and rolls etc. One day we decided to call for it in our apartment. We were told they would charge us 5 eur for that. We agreed to it. For two of us they sent, 2 pots of coffee, 2 orange juice, 2 bowls of muselli huge basket of croissants, bread rolls, muffins and English cake, and all the condiments from nutella, cream cheese, honey, butter and marmalade. They sent so much of it that it lasted us the entire 5 days we were there. We didn't go back for breakfast or order again cos we picked up daily fresh bread, eggs and yoghurt and milk from the deli close by and that sorted breakfast out for us.

They never bothered us to clean the room at a certain time etc. Whenever we left the room, we put the sign up for cleaning and when we came back in the eve, it was spotless and always smelling so good with the reed diffuser that they had placed in the room.

A special shout out to Carmela at the front desk and to Fabrizio who were always cheerful and friendly and ever ready to help us out.

We had a really lovely experience at this property and highly recommend it. Yes it does not have the mandatory balcony and view, but for us it proved to be the most convenient location to hop off and take the ferries for all our day trips and take the bus from the piazza close by to the rest of Positano. Even though the window overlooks the alley below, no one can look in and once the window is shut, you cant hear a thing from down below. Our friends who were staying at the another hotel high up always complained of the hundreds of steps to climb back up the hotel and they couldn't just pop back to the hotel to pick or drop something during the day. Once they left for the day they only went back at night. For us we were dropping off our shopping bags off and stopping off for showers during the day and dress up again for the eve.

Nearby is the deli, pharmacy and many stores for shopping. The bus tickets can be bought at the Tabachi at the Piazza which is cheaper than buying directly on the bus (Carmela's tip). The banks for changing money and atms are also located at the piazza. And if you go down to the beach ,several restaurants and cafes and they all have wifi. You only have to ask for the password. Great spot for people watching and aperitivos. For all the other restaurants higher up, you can always call and reserve and ask if they provide a shuttle. Most of them usually do.

We had a very pleasant stay at villa la tartana! The room was very fresh with a nice view! It was the perfect room for our wedding shoot! The staff were very kind and had a surprise for us on our wedding night! Villa la tartana is a very good choice because of its location! The beach is just around the corner! It is though a bit expensive and the breakfast was a little dull! But it was the nicest rooms compared to the hotels of our guests! So maybe it was worth it!!!

We spent the first three nights of our honeymoon here and couldn't have asked for a better hotel in Positano. The staff was welcoming, helpful, and very sweet throughout our stay. The best part hands-down was the proximity to both the beach and some of the nice restaurants that are just up the stairs from the hotel (Le Sirenuse, in particular). After a day or two in Positano, you realize that location is EVERYTHING. This hotel is perfect: high enough up to have a gorgeous view from our private balcony, and close enough to the bottom to easily climb to after a long day of swimming. We miss this place already, and would gladly stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view!

Very enjoyable staff with fantastic staff, great rooms and brilliant location. We had the cheaper room which looked on to a charming little alley way and still had ocean views. Very quiet, and very clean. Positano restaurants definately on the $$$ side.

Room Tip: We have a alley view which was so charming looking down on to the little street below, and we still...
