Allbeit we came when virtually nothing is open (January and February), this restaurant was wonderful. Everything came out exactly as was expected, was served with not only a smile but a remarkably engaging staff, whose humor was delightful, and the food was fresh and delicious. The owner was present throughout and made the meal an experience to be had - humorous, kind, and attentive.
On a previous night we were surrounded by tourist restaurants (90% of what you will find down at the beach) and finally we were able to find the authentic Italian food we were seeking in Positano. The patrons next to us had been there 2 nights in a row and loved coming back!
We suggest being open to the house specials - our first plate consisted of pasta, mussels, and potatoes in a wonderful sauce. There were literally 15 or more mussels on one plate. In the US, this could easily be priced at a 20+ dish, but here was 7 euro. The second plate was also fantastic, most certainly homemade gnocchi filled to capacity with fresh ricotta and served with clams and a fresh and light cherry tomato sauce. Finally, because we hadn't yet had a meal where afterward we were still wanting more, the panna cotta with some sort of AMAZING caramel sauce left us as happy as could be.
Once finished, because we had enjoyed some wine with the meal, we were offered a ride home by the generous staff, which will also pick you up. However, as we were only a 5 minute walk away, we enjoyed a finally satisfying meal on our lovely walk through the narrow winding streets of the otherwise vacated town.
