La Fenice is everything a sane traveller would want. Great views,
private beach, clean rooms, a most decent breakfast, and a swimming pool to boot.
Run by a family under the caring and I suspect, demanding supervision of Constantino, everyone who works here takes pride in their responsibilities.
Whether it is his wife, or either of his sons, they will answer any question you may have, will make suggestions and reservations, and even point out places that you may not want to see.
From what I observed, every guest receives the same level of warmth.
The only question I have is when does Constantino sleep?

My husband and I stayed at La Fenice on our honeymoon and everything about our stay was perfect. It is in a truly magical location with amazing views - our room was beautiful with a private terrace and had everything that we needed. The breakfast was outstanding and the private beach (with kayaks) was just lovely. The family that owns La Fenice really understands customer service - they made us feel so special! They told us about wonderful restaurants and day trips and took care of booking all reservations for us - we felt like royalty and we could not recommend La Fenice more highly. We hope to go back very soon!

My family and I spent celebrated our 25th anniversary and heard amazing things about La Fenice. After traveling throughout Italy, this was by far our most favorite place. La Fenice is family owned and the minute you arrive, you are treated like a family!!! Constantino went above and beyond in making sure that our arrival went smoothly. His son's greeted us, carried our luggage and constantly checked up on us to see if we needed anything. That also assisted us with all our arrangements for transportation, tours, etc. When we arrived, we felt like we were in Paradise!!! The rooms were amazing...clean...and the view absolutely breath taking. The grounds are beautiful and your room is on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The breakfast overlooks the ocean and is freshly prepared everyday. Constantino and his family go above and beyond for every guest. We were really sad to leave La Fenice, as the bed and breakfast was by far our best experience in Italy.- The McNulty's

Room Tip: They are all good rooms!!!!

We knew we wanted to stay in Positano, but most of the accommodations had prices we just weren't willing to pay. We found La Fenice, and it proved to be an excellent choice. Part of the joy of traveling is meeting wonderful people, and the family who runs La Fenice makes you feel like family members as well. They could not be more helpful or accommodating. Some of the other reviews are correct when they advise about the stairs, but you can';t go to Positano without expecting some climbs. If we are lucky enough to return, we will request an upper room. And yes, the rooms are clean but not luxurious, but we chose to spend our money on things other than fancy rooms and it was the right choice. Costantino (NOT "Constantino") and his sons were exceedingly helpful in making suggestions, obtaining information for side trips while we were there, and booking restaurants and transportation to them as well. Costantino's wife was very gracious, with cheerful visits every morning. Staying at La Fenice was part of a very wonderful vacation.

My cousin, brother and I spent 5 wonderful nights at La Fenice late May. The property is great but the real plus is the staff. Costantino, his sons, Guilio and Giacomo, and wife Angela are warm, friendly and extremely helpful. Every morning they asked us if we had plans for the day and if we needed any help with arrangements. They booked tickets for us, arranged for free shuttles to restaurants, and made great suggestions. Breakfast was served on the patio overlooking the sea, there was plenty of food and seconds on cappuccinos. Our room had a partial sea, partial cliff view, and was spacious and clean.
The location is great, just around the corner from town, and as a result was quiet (apart from the neighbourhood roosters), but well within walking distance to town and transportation.
We highly recommend La Fenice. One potential issue: the stairs to the room are high and steep and may be difficult for those with mobility or health problems.
