What a hotel, friendly service and amazing rooms. The views are fantastic.

Positano is split into a few bits. There are two beaches, one is in the main twona nd one a ten minute walk along a beautiful foot path. This hotel sits above the out of town beach. And by above it means above, about 150 steep steps above. Thats no problem for us, but maybe for some. Luckily to get into the main twon you do not have to walk up and down any steps you can follow the road down there instead but that does take about 20mins. However with all the best hotels and bars just right next to this area of twon, there was no need to ever leave. One night we went to the main twon for dinner and we just found the food down there of worse quality and really hectic. Up near our hotel the restaurants are better , the views from the restaurnats better and service seemed more personalised rather than touristy.

The reason i am saying this is beacuse, you have to understand positano. You want a hotel that has a view looking down, as that is what you are there for. The beach in the town is busier an less clean, and much less exclusive.

This hotel was great, breakfst was good and the friendly servcie was great. It is up steps. Not all the steps from the beach, but even from the road it was at least 30 steep steops, but where on the almalfi coast isn't?

The views from the roof terrace our own terrace and the breakfast rom were stunning.

Well worth it.

Room Tip: We were in 340- but it only had one sun lounger and shared balcony, try and get the one next to it...

I kept 2 stars because the view was really nice. There were ants in my room that crawled on my face at night. The beds were uncomfortable, the rooms felt cold and they charged for everything - internet, a/c, towels, eggs or extra food at breakfast. It was not like the hotel I had in Capri that was the same price or less. I almost left Positano a day early to go back to Capri becuase of this hotel. I definitely will not stay here again. And the hotel staff were cold, other than the nice young man at reception. I would commend getting somewhere closer to the ocean.

The breakfast, rooms and service is OK but the stairway is so long. it looks like close the center and main road but unfortunately isn't.

The entire experience with Conca d'Oro was great. The response from the staff, from the time I booked, subsequently changed dates, asked for them to arrange transportation from the Naples train station, and finally arrived, was wonderful. They were helpful, welcoming and knowledgeable. The room was very quaint, nicely decorated and we had a balcony with the most amazing view of Positano and the ocean. Breakfast was included and was delicious. We typically sat on the terrace overlooking Positano, the coastline and the ocean. It was truly breathtaking. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for a great stay.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, although a couple of the room balconies have access from the hallway, which...

Our stay at Conca D'oro was very enjoyable. It is a fantastic hotel with very helpful staff and unbeatable views. It does have stairs but then you can't get a view
I've Conca D'oro without getting up high and that mean stairs. The stairs didn't bother us at all.
There is no mini bar or fridge however and that would have been quite nice.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a superior room if you can. Well worth the money.

I have just stayed at the Beautiful Hotel Comca D'Oro with a friend. At first arrival I was stunned by the luggage porter Pepe who quickly took both our suitcases (each weighing at least 20kgs) and tied them over his shoulder...he then proceeded to run up those stairs as I trailed behind in absolute awe. Upon arrival we were greeted by Arianna who made our stay a wonderful experience. With an in depth knowledge of the town of Positano and it's locals, Arianna and her staff happily helped us with all our enquiries about transport, restaurants and day trips to the surrounding Islands.
The views were breathtaking and I could not believe that every morning when I woke up I looked out of my balcony doors I was met with the most amazing sense of being a part of this beautiful town.
I enjoyed every second of my time with the local people who were so very warm. Catching the Interno Positano bus into town and back is a MUST DO. The smile would quickly spread across my face watching the local nonnas chatting loudly across the bus. I will definately return to Positano and Hotel Conca D'Oro, I only hope it is sooner rather than later.
