First of all, the good news. The view is great. The rate of 120 Euro was decent, in relation to all other properties in Positano. Short walk to the beach. Owners spoke English quite well, which made things much easier than it could've been.
The not-so-good news. On several occasions, encountered some friction with the brother & sister owners. Felt like we actually had to take the high ground so not to appear as the 'rude tourists'. We were simply asking for assistance on phone calls, since the rooms do not have phones in them that allow external calls. They do have phones in each room that only allow you to call the owners. So you have to call the brother/sister owners in order to make reservations, request your car from parking, call for tickets to various events, etc. On at least a few occasions, the owners were clearly frustrated by our requests for phone calls. If it's that frustrating, then simply place regular phones in the rooms. To top if off, they charge you for each call they made.
One day, we and another couple encountered strange individuals in the hallway to the rooms. These strange individuals were standing in the dark (the hallway lights have to be turned on by you), wearing baggy jackets when it's 80 degrees Fahrenheit outside. It became clear very quickly that they were not guests. ...we had met the guests staying next to us...and these individuals were not them. The owners came by at that point and asked them a few questions and then that was it....off they went. After requesting the gate to the property remain locked throughout the day (guests have a key to this lock, so it would not have restricted access to legitimate guests) they did not lock it. Considering all of the theft warnings given throughout the area, including high # of room break-ins and car thefts, it's perplexing that basic precautions aren't taken...ESPECIALLY after encountering this situation,
Lastly, there were ants in the room. And a note taped to the in-room fridge says "WARNING!" so I'm thinking it's something serious. The note then goes on to say that you're not allowed to store anything in the little fridge...that it's just for the goodies they keep in there for you to buy. And that if you store anything in there it could break the fridge. Come on, you've got to be kidding me....
Overall, we were disappointed not by the property itself with its great view and reasonable price....but instead by the owners and the little hassles they generated (ie. attitude, phones, fridge).
