“Tasty and convenient”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

We stopped here for a quick lunch while on the way to the beach in Positano. We had delicious sandwiches, one of which had beef and eggplant and the other had tomatoes and mozzarella. Unlike many places in Italy, they make the sandwiches to order.

Another day we stopped for some fruit, which was fresh and delicious.

Highly recommended for a quick, casual lunch or snack.

“Excellent shop for sandwiches and antipasto!”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

We stopped at Delicatessen on our way down to the beach to rent a boat in Positano. The food was excellent and the service friendly. Plastic utensils and napkins were included. The olives, marinated artichokes, red peppers and zuchinni were great!--- so were the sandwiches!

“Learn from the Master and take a little piece of Positano home with you!”
Reviewed April 17, 2012

This entry pertains to the cooking class that is offered by Vincenzo, at the Positano Delicatessan. The class was outstanding. My wife and I cooked with the master chef Vincenzo and were assisted by his two lovely assistants Natalia and Bridgetta. (Bridgetta taught my wife how to make tiramasu). We started by making pizza dough. The toppings for the pizza were simple; fresh tomato sauce (literally, we made it from fresh tomatoes), fresh parsley, and fresh buffalo mozzarella. We then did a fennel bake, eggplant parmesan, and eggplant rotini (a slice of fresh mozzarella, with a leaf of fresh basil, wrapped in sliced eggplant and fried). We then started making polpette (meatballs), a broccoli and sausage pasta, a zucchini and prosciutto pasta, orata pesce (fish), and the finally was tiramisu. We sampled throughout and then we were served a taste of everything along with a fine glass of white wine. The experience was incredible. When w arrived home in south GA, we organized our notes that we had taken from th class and we began cooking. So far we have successfully reproduced the meatballs, eggplant parmessan and tiramasu. I highly recommend this experience. It is the best gift you can give yourself, as it is the gift that keeps on giving. Many thanks to our new friends Vincenzo, Bridgetta and Natalia!!! May our paths cross again! -Kevin and Brittany

“The best place to get food in Positano”
Reviewed December 26, 2011

Planning on spending the day on the beach? Look no further. The Delikatessen in Positano is THE place to go. We discovered this great place in March 2009 and when we went back to Positano in November 2011, we made sure to go back.

Let them know you plan on bringing your food to the beach. They will make sure your food is heated, you can get forks/knives and napkins. Super friendly, food is homemade and absolutely delicious!

The earlier you go in the day, the more variety they have - so plan accordingly. If you wind up going later, you still wont be disappointed.

Positano is not a cheap place to eat, but this is the best place to get authentic food and a great price. Grab a homemade sandwich and walk around the town, sit on the beach, sit on the bench near the church or bring the food back to your apartment. It makes the food portion of your trip a LOT more affordable and youre getting the best there is.

“Sme of THE best food in Italy - grab some of the just cooked prepared meals”
Reviewed November 4, 2011

Without a shadow of the doubt, this deli made some of the best food we ate during the 5 weeks in Italy.

Right at the bottom of the stairs off Via C Colomo, regardless which way you come down, it's hard to miss this place.

This deli is like a mini supermarket and has everything you need if staying an apartment BUT most importantly they also make food downstairs in the kitchen and sell it at the deli. We bought lunch and dinner from here for 4 days and were never disappointed, and the variety was huge. Yum yum yum

They also run 4 hour cooking classes for €50. normally Amelia who seems to run the place apparently runs the classes, but I did it with the two charming chefs, neither spoke English but it didn't seem a problem. I leant lots, had many laughs, and sampled many of the dishes before having lunch.

Early in the morning on several days we saw the 'old local Italian mamas' coming and buying food too......somif it's good enough for them it's more than excellent for me.

Go sample and enjoy!
