“TOP TIER HOTEL...Beautiful, excellent staff, clean and beautiful rooms”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2011

There is nothing this hotel does not provide......it is beautiful, clean, food is fresh and deelish, staff goes above and beyond on every level. We were in Italy for 15 days with our two kids, and this was by far the best hotel (we stayed at St. Regis Rome, Marriotts, Westins, Hiltons). There is literally not one negative that I can write about this property, and all they offer. I read some of the tripadvisor negative reviews before booking, and glad that we did not listen to their complaints. yes, the pool is small, but it is PERFECT and the view from it is one not to miss. The rooms are incredibly clean. The staff is welcoming, friendly, always a smile, always acknowledge you when you walk into the lobby, responds to requests pronto. To get down to details: this hotel was the most economical to have laundry done, is at the top of the hill in Positano, but only an easy 10-12 min walk to the bottom and great to work off all the pasta/gelato, the walk is also nice because it passes lots of little stores and shops along the way, and it's a beautiful walk. Our room was on the 2nd floor and the traffic noise was not bad as some others have mentioned (and I'm a light sleeper), the view from the 2nd floor was incredible. Sitting on the balcony on the morning and evening was a nice start and end to the day. There is a small store for drinks/snacks near the hotel.....When you come down the steps of the Eden Roc around the corner to the left is a little store you can purchase waters, wine ...nice to sit out on your balcony. For Americans, the bfast is not a huge American bfast....it's got a little of just about everything buffet style. Perfect to start the day. You'll love "Tony" in the mornings!! Serena, staff member at the pool, is also fantastic!
In Town: There is a fantastic "private" beach that is only a few more euros then the rocky beach ...if you are facing the water turn and walk to the left. walk to the end (passing the long row of changing rooms) and continue to walk around the building that is at the end. The chairs are on concrete, and on top of beautiful cliffs...if you have kids there are steps they can walk down and jump off onto the water, and can also swim to another beach around the corner to collect rocks, beach glass etc. We spent the day there which was a nice relief from all the touring we were doing. THey have an outdoor restaurant, and drink/food service to your chairs. Very nice, and fun experience. The restaurant to your immediate left as you walk down the stairs is not overly priced, and it's good food, and nice staff. Feel free to email me for more tips/suggestions.

We loved our stay at Hotel Eden Roc. The staff was lovely and a family run place. The rooms were huge and very clean. Plus you had your own balcony overlooking the water and town. Downtown Positano was a very short walk. The pool is an amazing addition to the property. It has a view of the water and town and it's a great way to avoid the huge crowds at the beach. We will definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel.

From the moment we arrived at Hotel Eden Roc, we knew it was going to be a fabulous 8 days. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. From Serena at the pool who anticipated our family's needs, to Carlos in the bar and restaurant who was courteous and professional to Tony in the restaurant who greeted and took care of us each morning - 'Nice'.

Our junior suite (Room 419)had a beautiful view from the balcony. The room was well appointed and kept immaculately clean. The pool are and view was beautiful and you could eat a light lunch or have a snack or glass of wine. The staff organized some excursions for us and always welcomed us back with a smile.

We loved the walk down to the beach and the little shops and restaurants that we would pass along the way. We liked the fact that our hotel was at the top of the hill...a great way to work off all the pasta.

Our two girls (ages 8 and 10) felt very at home and welcomed at this hotel.
Congratulations to the owners for creating such a piece of paradise.

We views are terrific and the breakfast is varied and tasty, but it's the people that make this place special. My wife broke her tooth veneer (on an olive!) and the Casolas (the owners) helped us find a dentist on a Friday afternoon at 4pm to help us out. And they even found us a driver to take us there and wait with us. They really do go above and beyond.

My Wife Gina and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary and couldn't have been more happy with the location of the hotel, the view and how beautiful and clean our room was! This is a family run operation emphasizing Family that cares so much for their guests and treat you as part of the family. We had a great bartender Sarena who made sure our drinks were always served as well as Tony who made sure I had my coffee and Pizze Gaine warmed to perfection. I would not hesitate in a minute to return back to this beautiful hotel and town.

This is one of those places a mere review can do justice to. By far Positano is my favorite place to be. Friendly people, great food and the views are to die for. Eden Roc will always be the place we stay when we go. We had a suite with a private balcony and our own jacuzzi! We used it every single night looking over the stunning water. Grab a bottle of wine and you are set. Truly romantic. The rooms were spacious and the bathtub to die for. The morning breakfast we wwre always greeted by the ever so friendly staff with their special cappuchino. The gentleman, and I wish I remembered his name, was always right there to greet us with a smile and coffee. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Do not miss out and go somewhere else. We also had a dream dinner on the top roof one night over looking the views. Relaxing, no rush and private with only a few other hotel guests.

Room Tip: Get the private balcony. Well worth the extra mon.

We loved our stay everyone was so nice and friendly morning breakfast was filled lots of wonderful pastries, breads, quiches, yogurts, fruits, cerals, juices, can't name everything and wonderful Italian coffee of course this was served by "Tony" he so happy and funny its was a great start for the upcoming day ahead. They were very helpful with travel arrangments guiding you to the best transportation for local interests.Taxi, boats what ever you needed for you stay, they ave a nice pool on the top roof with great views and bar service pools side. They served dinner also on roof with great views. Though we did take trip to Ravello "south" beautiful gardens worth a trip there, its one boat taxi ride and a bus ride make sure tgat you do make sure you are not on a holiday or times change on tne bus line. Everything you do get copies of time schedules for each transport service. If you are traveling north to Rome be sure tickets for trains are available for the time you want to leave. They were sold out for the next two trains and we had to take the express line and also make sure you know what train car you are on or you could be kicked out of you seats give yourself enough time to get to your car if you do not have 1st class tickets. The taxi is costly to take you to naples so be aware of that. Study up on transportation tips before you leave. Trust me we made a few mistales, costly ones! Eden really does Roc.....V&A....NJ USA
