“Nice but rooms are small”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

The standard rooms are tiny-the upgrade makes a big difference but drives the price up to the really expensive category. The views are great. Breakfast very nice. Wifi good. Staff is so-so could be more helpful. You have to pay to have the town porter service bring the bags up and down. It's about a ten minute strenuous walk to the road. There are several good restaurants on the same level as the hotel, along the beach. The pool is nice, but unheated. I'm not sure this is the best town to stay in-there really is no central area to stroll around. It's all on a steep hill. i believe it is five stars but certainly seemed more like four.

Nothing to complain about here at all.
May be a bit pricey but certainly worth it.
Service and accommodations and amenities are top notch. Period.
The restaurant is absolutely the best we have had in town in all aspects and ate here twice after being at the others nearby.
The others are good yes of course and each have their own style.
As for location, can't beat it....step off the ferry and you are right there.
People complaining about hauling luggage here are just naive as to the process if coming in on a bus. All hotels are a walk and can be difficult (it is Positano) and Blue Porter will transfer bags if you need.
Being here in Oct is nice and quiet but not sure would stay here in high season as the pool would be nuts with young families.

I stayed there for five nights on my own as I was travelling by Italy, I saw this place on a photo and I loved it! But it is better than a photo!! The hotel is near the beach, near the boats that take you everywhere, near the shops. Excellent ubication. And the best was the reception team! Always available for everything. Thanks for all. During the breakfast you have a wonderful time...the view, the staff and every single thing on the table. My room had a balcony with an ecellent view, was very clean and tidy. I stayed from september 19 th to september 24th. I reached Argentina and I reccomended every boy this wonderful hotel. YOU HAVE TO GO THERE,!! But not alone....with the one you love!

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony with view!

My wife and I stayed here as our luxury part of our honeymoon. We're not quite sure what to expect with a 5 star so this review might be a bit biassed from a "common folk" person enjoying what's supposed to be a 5 star.

We knew before arriving that the hotel was located down by the beach, perfect! Be prepared to walk and pay €10 per bag to have it portered to the hotel. We carried our own as no porterers were there when we arrived, secretly wanted to save €20 haha.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly spoke perfect English and helped us out whenever we called.

The pizza Margherita from room service and pool side service was my favourite pizza I've had in Italy.

Room cleaning would happen twice a day which was nice, the pool was cold (first week of October) but the service by the pool was great and not intrusive at all. Room service was prompt even if it was for a bucket of ice etc.

My only complaint was that with the doors closed you could hear through the walls to your neighbours room, we slept with the doors to the sea open every night it was beautiful and very relaxing.

The rooms do feel dated kind of reminded me of 4 star hotels in mexico or Cuba. We didn't mind but someone expecting modern and chic.. not this place.

Overall we had an amazing 5 days here, loved the location, the staff and their complimentary bottle of presseco and the beautiful view from our balcony.

Our stay was special the service and the staff were superior room service was lightning fast. junior suites with balconies could use some updating but rooms with terraces were well done. Pool was clean and ideally suited and restaurant and bar was great as well. ideally located alot of walking but best option.

Room Tip: ask for junior suites with terraces and on third floor so that you can avoid two elavators

We stayed in this hotel for 8 days during early June. The junior suite with large terrace was just as we wished. The room was clean and fresh and always well presented on our return from exploring or eating. The views were magnificent from the terrace. We enjoyed the restaurant attached to the hotel as we did several of the beach bars and restaurants. The staff were helpful and friendly and always ready with advice to enhance our stay. A car trip and tour of Pompeii was wonderful and trips to Capri and Amalfi most enjoyable. After our journey through beautiful Italy, and prior to our long flight home to Australia, Positano and Covo Dei Saraceni was just perfect.

We stayed 4 nights in a jr suite and were very happy with the adcomodations. We had a lovely view of both the sea and the town and discovered the footpath to the more secret beach just to the right of the hotel entrance.
The service was impeccable and no matter which shift was working the counter they knew who we were, which room was ours and what we had previously enquirer about. Really great staff. we were greeted with a cold bottle or prosecco upon arrival which we really enjoyed.
The pool is probably the best part of the hotel, overlooking the beach and town activity.
We took a cooking class with the chef and loved it; the gelato and pizza in the downstairs casual restaurant is tops, along with the shrimp and zucchini ravioli from the pool menu.

Small Complaints would be that the bed was a little too firm for my taste and the wifi didn't stay connected after you stopped using it, so I found myself having to go back to my room from the pool to dig up the code after a nap.
