Our stay was 3 nights. At first we were disappointed that the hotel was outside the city center, but once we settled in, we were pleased. The hotel supplies a shuttle every hour to and from the city center. Since much of out itenery had us driving to different sites it was conveniant to not be in the center. We also found it very relaxing to sit by the beach or terrace to relax at the end of the day before going out to dinner. The funicular is a unique and fun way to travel to and from your room. Breakfast was a pleasure because of the food and the view. Staff was very good about helping with luggage, retrieving our van and bringing it up to the street for us, etc.

Me and my girlfriend loved our stay here! The staff were very accommodating providing us with free transport to my brothers wedding in the town hall. The views were stunning and we made the most of the private beach with free towel service. A water taxi is available here straight to positano beach which costs only €15, we preferred this to the free bus as it could get busy at times (and takes longer). We slept well every night, the one downside to the hotel is access as there is alot of stairs and the funicular to the beach is slow and temperamental. However this is the case of all of positano as it is built into a cliff! I would definately this as a great stay to enjoy the beauty of positano!

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. From the stunning cliff side views at the restaurant and pool to the spectacular private beach. It has it's own lift that takes you throughout the multi level property which would be our only complaint- it can sometimes be difficult to get around with so many stairs and only one lift. It is truly beautiful here but what outshines everything is the staff. They are beyond kind and hospitable. Specifically, Rafaelle and his brother Antonio- make sure that you introduce yourself to these truly lovely people. They positively made our trip!

Lovely lovely location, high above the town of Positano. The setup is unique, with rooms on various levels on the cliffside, and a funicular/elevator combination to take you down to a private beach and bar. All rooms have views as far as I could tell. Food was excellent, and the food service helpful and cordial.

Downside...our room had quite a number of steps to reach it, which is only an issue going uphill. The rooms themselves may be more 4-star than 5, as they are quite plain (white decor inside and out), and the beds were a bit hard. This is somewhat unusual for a Tauck tour. However, the view certainly compensates.

Upside..shuttle service. .and, in addition to the location and unbelievable views, I'm giving special kudos to the assistance they provided me when I "lost" my camera card with 700 photos downtown. When I realized it at 10:15pm, the cordial manager Ciro sent a bellboy to search the road with a flashlight (we took a taxi), then had him drive me downtown in a car to the taxi stand, and finally waited for me when I went down to the restaurant we had eaten at (and yes, it was there under our table). The next morning he went out of his way to tell me how happy he was that it was located. Very much appreciated.

Room Tip: If you have problems climbing up stairs and a driveway, ask for a room level accessible by elevator.

This was a special holiday to celebrate our Silver Wedding which I had briefly mentioned in an email, however, on arrival in our suite we discovered a bottle of prosecco on ice and a huge platter of fresh fruit. The staff without exception were incredibly friendly & helpful, our room was spotless and above all the view from our room, the dining room & terraces were priceless. I have stayed in many 5* hotels but it was the little things & attention to detail which will ensure my husband & I return to Le Agavi.

We had such a wonderful stay at Le Agavi we didn't want to leave! In the past we have stayed at Palazzo Murat but this time I wanted to be more connected to the beach. The views, huge terraces, great restaurant, super staff, private beach with restaurant and private funicular all conspire to make this hotel wonderful. We were traveling with my parents so we had two rooms, one was a Special Junior Suite which had a really larger terrace with lounges and table and chairs on it and one Special Suite 2+2 which was two stories and had a terrace larger than my first apartment in New York City! We had dinner almost every night on the restaurant's terrace. The waiters, the Maitre d', the food and the view were all wonderful. One day we had a lovely 2 hour lunch with wine at the beach restaurant. Again, great views and the Caesar salad was exceptional. The hotel is probably 6 minutes from the center of Positano. There is regular free shuttle service and you can always just hop in a taxi once you're in town to come back quick. We made a couple trips into town just to buy water, wine, snacks etc. Every night we would have wine at sunset on our terrace. It was truly a wonderful vacation. Every inch of the hotel's property is immaculate. This is where we will always stay in Positano from now on. One note, my parents found the beds to be too hard but they put the cushions from the outdoor lounges under the sheet to make it more comfy. Sounds odd, but they were happy.

Room Tip: Get a Junior Suite (or higher) for a large patio
