The tour was pretty good, but i found it too expensive for what it was. The boat was old and very noisy and quiet slow. The tour around capri was interesting but we were not able to swim around any of the caves, we ended up swimming somewhere more in the middle of the sea where there was not much to see. If we would do it again we would pay for a taxi boat to take us around capri and tell the driver exactly what we want.

My husband and I went on a boat tour to Capri in June 2012 for about $50 Euro each. We chose this tour company because they offer smaller boats and thus, less people are on your tour (there were maybe 30 people on our boat). We were able to hear our guide speaking (not over an intercom) and interact with her, which was a huge plus for us.

The trip took us from the pier area at the bottom of Positano straight to Capri. Once on the island, tourgoers are basically left on their own to enjoy the day as they please (another plus for us). The guide does explain the various options for touring the island - taxis, scooters, buses. We opted to share a taxi with two other couples in order to make the day more cost effective (of course I knew that we would incur costs once on the island, but i do wish the person we spoke to before purchasing the tour gave more information as to how much transportation actually costs on the island and that it is impossible to see the island entirely on foot). The taxi took us to Anacapri for the first half of the day and to the main center of Capri for the second half (taxi was not "affiliated" with this tour company, but i'm sure they have some kind of deal worked out). A bus certainly would have been cheaper.

In the mid-afternoon, the tour meets back at the boat for a sea-tour of the island. Our guide was EXTREMELY knowledgable and spoke four languages. The Grotta Azzura was closed during our trip due to high water (something that they apparently have no way of knowing before the tour begins) but we were able to see it from the boat (we just couldnt go inside - which we were told also costs extra, because you cant go inside with this boat - you have to get out and get in a rowboat manned by some other people who you must pay separately). We also got to view the other grottos and a bunch of other sites. The best part was taking a swim in the Bay of Naples - just amazing.

The price of the tour does include drinks (including champagne and beer) and cookies/cakes.

For those who are afflicted with motion sickness (like myself) I HIGHLY SUGGEST taking non-drowsy Dramamine or using some other anti-motion sickness method. The water can be very choppy and the size of the boat doesn't help - and once you are on the island, the streets are very curvy and the buses and taxis all drive like maniacs.

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Positano and Capri.

My friend and I took a tour to Capri with L'uomo e il mare and enjoyed every minute of it. It is a very well-balanced tour in which they give you time to go round Capri and visit Anacapri too and then, once you get on the boat again, you are taken round the island, Grotta Azzura stop included. One of the best moments is the swimming. Chiara, the guide, was friendly and funny and gave us lots of interesting information. Boats are the right size and carry the right number of people to avoid crowds. Loved it!

We've taken the Amalfi Cost tour twice. It was wonderful. You have the cahnce to jump off the boat and swim in a grotto or under a waterfall. Just sitting on the boat and cruising through the water is relaxing and fun. AND the five course lunch is not to be missed. It was the best meal we had in Italy. The day was relaxing, fun and delicious Of course, traveling along the beautiful Amalfi coast is an added delight.

Every time we visit Positano, we make sure to take this tour with Salvatorre (local fisherman, tour guide, and philosopher). This tour provides a great mix of sightseeing (with interesting tid-bits added by your guide) and swimming in the Mediterranean (including entering a grotto and dunking your head under a freshwater waterfall). Opt for the 5-course lunch at a restaurant along the way, featuring fish caught by Salvatorre that morning. And, oh, don't forget to bring a few bottles of wine to sip while relaxing on the sea.
