Owner description: This walking degustation tour of Positano is a downhill stroll through the small streets of Positano, stopping at eateries to taste local produce and places of interest to learn Positano's history. Escorted by an expatriate whose mother tongue is English and who is married to a local Positanese, this walk ensures small groups whilst being entertained by local knowledge on what to do, places to eat, history and culture of this wonderful town.

“Wonderfull tour of Positano”
Reviewed May 17, 2011

My daughter and I stayed in Sorrento for four nights and read in Trip Advisor that we should go on a one day tour of Positano which was 45 minutes away. We looked at the number one rated tour of Positano and it was "Discover Positano" with Christine. We booked that tour before we left the US. We had high expectations for our tour guide and those expectations were exceeded by Christine. She was raised specking english so she was easy to understand. She knows the history of the town and their buildings. Christine showed us great shops in the town. My daughter purchased clothing and I purchased the lemoncello and received discounts because we were Christine. We would recommend this tour to everyone.

“Very worthwhile”
Reviewed May 12, 2011

There are a limited umber of sights to see in Positano, aside from it's overall loveliness. Christine's tour gives you the history of the city, and the stops into local shops is intended not to sell you, but to inform you of the rich history of pottery making, linen making, etc. A great way to spend a few hours in this wonderful town.

“Christine helped us connect with Positano.”
Reviewed May 5, 2011

As if you need more than the gorgeous views, shopping, food, wine, etc., taking a tour with Christine ties the final knot between the visitor and the town. She told us about the origins of the town (the who, why, when and how), the business and religious history of the area, the geography (the water sources, geographical fault lines). She explained why there is so much linen and so many sandals, she showed us hand-crafted authentic Positano products. We did meet her husband in his salumeria and the next day bought wonderful items for a light "antipasto" dinner at our rented house after a big lunch. We learned more about what the church did with dead monks than we ever wanted to know, but still . . . . She gave us invaluable advice about how best to get to Pompeii and even made the arrangements for us. She told us about current events that week that we might find interesting. Her manner is easy, informed and helpful. Well worth the time. Best to book this tour at the beginning of your stay to maximize your time.

Christine's tour is reasonably priced and absolutely first rate. I recommend taking her tour the first or second day of your stay so that you have the time to utilize the information gleaned from the tour. Christine's love of her adopted home is infectious and her knowledge of it is extensive. She also is extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The tips she gave us for our tour of Amalfi made ALL the difference in our experience. She recommended a somewhat hidden restaurant named Cumpa Cosimo in Ravello that had the best food we have ever had in Italy (and that is no easy feat!). We would never have found it without her assistance.
I highly recommend her private tour. It was adapted to our interests "on the fly" with the ease and confidence of a highly experienced professional.
Christine is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside(and she is a stunning brunette). With an impish smile and a sharp wit she gives the visitor an inside look at the flavor and charm of Positano. It is clear that she is loved by the locals and that she loves them in return.
My only regret is not booking her to give us tours of Amalfi and Capri.

“The BEST part of our trip to Positano!”
Reviewed May 4, 2011

This tour is an absolute must for anyone visiting Positano! My husband and I took this tour with the lovely Christine, who I am certain knows more about Positano than the natives do. We booked a private tour with her so that we could do and see what interested us most and that was a real plus to have her all to ourselves! She takes you to so many places and is so informative that after the tour, you feel you are a part of the history of the town!

The highlight of the tour was our visit and tasting at her husband Vincenzo's family butcher/deli shop. We tasted many delicious foods such as cheeses, olives, salami and sun dried tomatoes. Vincenzo took the time to chat with us even though he was very busy with his local patrons (it was the day after Easter - a special holiday in Positano) to talk with my husband about the many wonderful wines in his shop.

After our wonderful tasting, the tour continued to many places we would never have found on our own. When our tour was over (I hated to see it end!!), Christine made dinner reservations for us at a local restaurant for that evening and also for the next night. She also made several arrangement of tours, transfers and excursions for us in advance of our arrival that we would never have known about!

Christine's love of Positano is evident in her enthusiasm and knowledge that you can't help but fall in love with this lovely town. She has become a very special memory of our trip and a dear friend.

If you plan to visit Positano, this tour should be the very first thing you do upon arrival - you will learn the best places to shop, eat, see etc. You will be so happy you did!
