This is a very attractive restaurant in a beautiful place. Unfortunately the food was fairly average. We did not try any of the cakes which seem to be their speciality. Service was a bit slow.

You'd never expect a good deal in somewhere like Positano but La Zagara offers a clean shady lunchtime stop for a drink, a large variety of different snacks, and a clean loo. Its a bit like a tardis with the shop front, half way down the steep main street, opening onto a large shady balcony. You won't get the best food, or pay top prices as you don't get the 'optimal' view, but you will have a space to settle down and wait for the bus or ferry back to wherever you came from.

This lovely shaded restaurant with tables under pergola is a welcome spot as you descend over - crowded-steps filled on both sides with stores and interesting art galleries, but so touristed that you can hardly walk, going down ever long stepped sidewalk toward the beach . But food is pretty mediocre. The antipasto plate was nice, but most of food seemed pre- packaged. This family owned, but we hit it at end of season, and staff seemed to be ready for season to end.

Friendly and tasty food for a take away. Or get a take away and sit inside on the right (a bar type long table) for no extra cost of eating in.

The thing you should not miss at La Zagara is the live music at night. Gino and Gerry are a very talented couple playing jazz/pop music. Fantastic sound. Forget the food and sip on cocktails, dance, make requests and enjoy the evening. It's hard to find live music this good in any city. Take advantage of this place after dinner.
