We spent one night in this hotel having decided to stay an extra night in Positano, so it was completely unplanned. The building is beautiful and our room was both enormous and tastefully decorated. The staff were friendly and the terrace, although small, has a great view. Our only criticism would be that although the room was well priced, additional costs (minibar, food) were very expensive.

We enjoyed everything about our recent trip to Italy except for this unfriendly, smelly, and stingy place they have the audacity to call "Resort". This "English-speaking" front desk woman was the rudest bully, who tried to blame us for any inconvenience we experienced due to their shortcomings, such as the foul stench in one of the rooms ("I am upset that you didn't tell me there was a smell" when the night staff person had told us he would tell the hotel staff the following morning and we assumed he would have) or the shuttle van that took forever to come ("The time on the shuttle schedule is approximate and you need to add 15-20 minutes" in the most unfriendly manner when their shuttle was late to pick us up). They don't understand the concept of hospitality. My family and I could not wait to get out of this worst hotel ever.

Dear customer,

We would like to clarify some points:

The smell from the bathroom, was only for a little problem with the drains in the bathroom which was immeddiatamente solved.

The shuttle service for the beach was not delayed, it is only due to the fact that in Positano there is much traffic during this days, is nothing happens if you wait 5/10 minutes, you're on vacation not at work.
(You should be relaxed and not thinking about the delay of 5 minutes of the shuttle service).

I'm sorry but the only person that who was really rudest bully was only you.
You're on vacation, if you are exhausted is not our fault.

Your Sincerely.

We stayed at Palazzo Marzoli Resort in Positano only one night. The trouble had started while we were booking the room. After a initial offer of a € 399,00 double room, which we immediately accepted by email, the day after the offer for the same kind of room became of € 499,00, because they said the first room wasn't still available. Although I had sent them my credit card number, they wanted a signed filled form I had never seen attached to their e-mails. After four telephone calls they agreed at last with booking. When we arrived at 1:30 pm to Palazzo Marzoli the room wasn't ready. Fortunately there was a garage to park the car, the city doesn't permit parking along the streets. Despite a 500 meter distance to the beach specified on the web-site, the hotel is more far from the centre and the beach through a steep slope, the shuttle wasn't so frequent and we needed about 30 minutes to reach the shore by feet.
The room was big enough with a large terrace and a beautiful sight on the sea. That's all, no other facilities included. I'm bound to say the bathroom was without window, no bathrobe, no slippers, no body lotion and hair conditioner. The breakfast was served in room. We filled a hand-cut form the night before so they brought us bad coffee, milk, omelette, grocery croissants. For ham or bacon you had a fee apart. More, there were no beach towels, neither arrangement for deck- chairs nor reserved place at the beach. In addition the staff was not kind and helpful. We felt as we were not welcome by them even though we payed an half thousand euros a night.
In conclusion we are not in much doubt the location is not comfortable and convenient. The morning after we could hardly wait to set off.

Dear Customer,

We inform you that the check-in time is from 15:00 onwards as well written on all internet sites also the site used from you for your reservation.

That the bathroom had no window, is a problem that if not all the bathrooms can have the window? I think no.

All our rooms are equipped with: body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, etc.
(On request there are also slippers and robes), just ask.

Bathrobes and slippers are standard data for the Suites.

The towels for the beach of course we give to all our customers, (just ask).

In Positano no hotels has a private beach with sunbeds, chairs, etc, on the beach there is a private establishment.

Our staff was polite ready to meet all the needs of even the most absurd.

Yours Sincerely.

Staff.

Staff were rude to us on check in. Initially they emailed stating check in was 2pm, then when we arrived we were advised it was 3pm. The older women behind the check in desk, walked us to the lift then walked away and kept shouting 'prego miss' at us from around the corner, apparently we were supposed to follow her. Minimal English spoken by most behind the desk.
Plain breakfast unless you want to pay more for the add on which are very pricey.
Shuttle times do not often run therefore no chance of eating collected by the hotel shuttle in town on the return to the hotel.
Basic rooms, could have been cleaner
Average hotel

Dear customer,

We are very disappointed to read your complaint and we would like to clarify some points:

Our staff was not rude with you, in fact it was the opposite, you have arrived at the hotel around 14.30 pretending to check-in immediately, the check-in time is from 15:00 hours onwards as clearly written on all the booking sites including the one you used for the reservation as you can check, so what you wrote is clearly false, (usually if the room is ready before 15:00 hours the customer can safely take the room), in this case the room was not ready, in 5 minutes the maid would deliver the room ready and clean, we asked you to wait 5 minutes, when you've answered very rude no "I don't want wait", we have also proposed to wait on the our panoramic "Solarium terrace" and you really rude answered no, so you was very rude with us.

Our staff speaks fluent good English and other languages, however you cannot expect that we speak perfect English like native speakers, we are in Italy and you should adapt before claiming.

Our Hotel is among the highest scores for cleaning and nobody have never complained about the cleanliness.

About the Instagram site, are you not able to to leave an opinion on instagram page that there was nothing to do with your stay and it is not interested you.

Next time you can find other things for try to leave a negative review, because the true is that you have nothing to complain and you have only reported here a useless things.

Yours sincerely.

Place was nice enough, for context like it would be equivalent to a new GM commuter car versus a Mercedes sedan... Good enough especially since you are out and about and enjoying the sights, shopping and beaches of Positano. The downside is when its time to leave, they layer on the charges.. so wildly unnecessary for an expensive area and upscale crowd, and especially in this day and age of TripAdvisor and other internet review sights. Just beware if you end up a Palazzo Marzoli... really quite silly and short sighted. Ultimately, just try and avoid the place.
