Tucked away in the quaint streets of Positano,MAX lives up to its reputations as one of the finest places to dine in the Amalfi coast.
Recommended by our concierge at the Santa Catarina Amalfi,we drove with Marcello our cab driver to the small neighboring town of PositAno .Its about a half hours drive on a very winding road ,and although he concierge was generous with his lemon smelling theory to ward off motion sickness,I was hunting down the farmacy in positano for bracelets and pills for the way home .
First of all Max,it's always packed and there is a person there to tend to your every need(not in an annoying way).
You can tell from the way they handle everything that these people know good food. The owner (I think) walks around with a plate of the catches of the day showing you exactly what you can eat there..(for those of you that don't know the difference between a flounder and a sea bass).
They have an extensive wine list (I was still car sick and gulped my pelligrino and downed the delicious bread basket and within minutes I was back to my self)
For an appetizer my husband and I share the spinach ravioli which was delicious and the. For the main courses I had a sea bass prepared with potatoes and tomatoes and my husband had the flounder. The fish main course is served in a little pot on a platter to ensure temperature and robust flavor which it was.
Our only mistake??
Not ordering another pasta because the food was beyond delicious!!
Worth an hour of sea sickness....
