“The worst eating experience in Positano”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

We had a lunch here, and weren't impressed by food - risotto was okay, but the fried mixed seafood was terrible. The service was awful - although the restaurant was almost empty, we didn't get attention from our servant. Not even once he filled our glasses with drinks, or asked how was the food. And also, they are not honest with prices - risotto was 16 euro on the menu, and the check we paid was 23 euro. The only good thing in this place was ambiance.

“Excellent food, sensational service and beautiful dining”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

This was a great night with wonderful service who were happy to mix two appetisers, so I could try the zucchini flowers and their mixed seafood, which was the best I have ever eaten. Silver service with very professional staff who obviously care about their restaurant. My only suggestions is having slightly more space between tables. I really didn't want to listen to every moment of the table very close by.

“A bit stuffy, but outstanding”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Excellent food, outstanding wine, impeccable service. Be prepared for a more serious dining experience... Which can be a bit stuffy for a beach town. The staff take themselves very very seriously. The chef is gifted, though... Simplicity and style.

“Outstanding !”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

We stayed in Postitano in June. Ristorante Max was recommended to us by our Hotel (II San Pietro). The food and overall experience was so fantastic that we ate here 5 nights out of 7 and because the menu was so extensive we never ate the same dish twice !

We loved;
The atmosphere of the outdoor terrace
The local fish with olives and tomato
The pasta (which melted in your mouth) with scampi and tomato

All of the ingredients were fresh and flavoursome. The waiters were so helpful and the service was outstanding - we never felt rushed even though the restaurant was full to capacity every night. If we ever come back to Positano we will definitely eat here - without question.
