Description: The Mediterraneo is a little family run restaurant where we will take care of our guests in a nice, romantic but unformal atmosphere. We try to keep traditional flavors and recepies as first of all we do like eating.Using fresh seasonal products, we like to cook fish specialties, vegetables and "al dente" home-made pasta, the same way our grandmas used to.The right location for pre-wedding lunch. It's mostly a nice place where you can sit, eat and drink well, discussing of art or listening to good napolitan live music. Enzo always organises art exibitions, books presentation, wine tastings and music evenings.

The Mediterraneo is located in a very scenic view. Sitting outside on the patio late in the evening is magical. Enzo and Lorenzo and ALL of the staff make you feel special! The food is excellent. Hot, fresh, delicious and tasty! The crew work together well as a team. The desserts are delicious and the Grappa finishes off the meal warmly and smoothly. Seafood dishes with pasta are well prepared and very fresh! The atmosphere is inviting and warm. Excellent service, great food, beautiful views! It can't get any better than this. Go! Be sure you stop next door at the Arte Wine Shoppe for best wine buys in Positano! Ask for Enzo - he's a gem and quite knowledgable. Art is beautiful as well.

After reading all the good reviews we decided to try this place for Dinner and were so so disappointed, wish we could rewind and start the evening over at another place.

Please note the bad score is just for the food not the service.
The service was fantastic and the glasses of limoncello with the bill a nice touch, I would had loved to give it a higher score but it was on par with the worst meal we have had in Italy over the last three weeks.

We ordered zucchini flowers for apertizer which was the highlight and it was all down hill from there, although they were still bland.

Next we both had a pasta dish, the eggplant, sausage and mozerella and the hard to get wrong bolognise, both were below par and the eggplant dish was hardly edible. Pasta on both was under cooked.

To end the meal we thought we would try the tiramisu but I shouldn't have bothered as It was just one lousy sponge finger at the bottom of a pile of cream.

Don't waste a meal here.

We had a great time at this restaurant during our stay in Positano. The food was great and we really enjoyed the live entertainment from Pietro. He was playing guitar and singing - he also handed out tamborines to much of the restaurant so that we were able to play along. We enjoyed it so much we left with one of his CD's. Definitely a good time!

I loved our dinner here in Positano. We stayed at Hotel Montemare so this was just steps away from the hotel, which was a bonus. But the friendliness of the staff (most especially Lorenzo who was such a delight...and very handsome too!), the food, the complimentary limoncello drinks afterwards and the guitar playing and singing by the whole staff made the experience really unforgetable.

Please stop by this ristorante while in Positano, it will make you smile!

Situated a little further out of town, La Mediterraneo is a great little place to get a very reasonably priced dinner. Yes, it wasnt the most amazing culinary delight during our stay in Positano, but the the music and entertainment from Pietro on his guitar singing well known italian songs more than made up for this.

The staff were friendly and welcoming and all in all we had a very enjoyable evening
