“OUTSTANDING....Did not want to Leave!”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

First of all, thank you does not even cover it. My wife and I spent 4 nights here during our honeymoon. Gilda, her husband and her right hand help, Rosa, made us feel like family. There needs to be more happy and generous people in the world like these people. Our room was perfect, with a view that we couldn't stop staring at. Impeccable, intimate and breathtaking panoramic views. Our room included: kitchenette, fridge, very safe residence, huge washroom, delicious breakfasts and all the help we needed with groceries, spots to see, authentic Italian cuisine, wine, and a very " at home" feeling. Everyday Gilda would bring us some of her homemade food. While we were reading outside on the loungers, her husband brought us bruschetta. While we were speaking with Rosa, Gilda brought us homemade pizza. While we were relaxing in our room, her husband brought us roast beef dinner. The only reason we are leaving is because we have a flight to Croatia for the rest of our honeymoon, but I could have easily skipped it and stayed here. Thank you very much everyone at Holiday House Gilda for your one of a kind charm, generosity, welcoming feeling, more than affordable pricing, and making this a trip of a lifetime. We will be back and will spread the good word about our stay to everyone!

Room Tip: They are ALL good, just ask for a sea view!

We stayed here for two nights and I wish it could have been longer! The views over Positano and the coast were amazing and everyone at the albergo were very helpful and friendly.

The breakfast is nice with great coffee, various pastries and breads and the fruits that are in season. Yoghurt and freshly cooked eggs to boot!

Make sure you ask Gilda for some recommendations about where to eat aroun Positano. We did for both nights and were not disappointed.

Enjoy! We plan on going back next year!

If you are heading to Positano then I would definitely recommend Holiday House Gilda to family and friends. We booked three nights but had such a great stay that we decided to stay for a fourth night. I believe they would have one of the best views of Positano and the best part is you can look straight out of your room for it or enjoy the first class breakfast (fresh bread, croissants, jams, fruit juice, coffee, eggs) with the view.

The B&B is roughly 20 minutes walk to the center of town but I think it was worth it as the town is very busy with tourists. We hired a Scooter for a few days as we wanted to head to Almalfi and Ravelo so it wasn't a hassle at all for us. We ate at a number of restaurants and most of them will offer to pick you up. We asked Rosa (Gilda's right hand man) for recommendations and she always recommended real authentic Italian restaurants that were run by families which is exactly what we wanted to experience. We would simply tell Rosa that we would be ready by a certain time and she call up and make a reservation on our behalf. Same with the scooter, we told Rosa that we wanted to hire for two days and the guy turned up at Gilda's with the Scooter!

Another great aspect of the B&B was that it access to a nice little beach (Arienzo) just around the corner from the main beach. It looked like more locals would go there to stay clear of the tourists. The first day we arrived it was a lovely day so we wanted to get to the beach in a hurry so Rosa offered to make us a sandwich (it was massive) and she packed it up in a little carry bag and we ate it at the beach, it was so nice.

Gilda and her husband are two of the loveliest people you will ever meet and they work well as a team. Gilda would be in the kitchen most of the day and her husband tends to the vegetable garden, which has some great produce.

I could go on about our lovely stay but you should experience for yourself. I hope everyone enjoys as much as we did.

- Calm, bright and comfortable apartments (fast wifi connection), with amazing view of Positano and affordable price
- Nice garden, terraces (furbished with beach chairs and tables), dining area
- Walking distance to Positano (~15 min); above the nice beach of Arienzo; bus stop just near the entrance
- And most of all fantastic hosts! Warm hospitality and helpful suggestions on transportations, restaurants, excursions, etc.
Thanks again Gilda, Giuseppe, Rosa and Daniela!

Our stay at Holiday House Gilda was the highlight of our trip to Italy. We were amazed by the views of the city of Positano, the beach, and the sea from our balcony, as well as the surrounding mountains (even though we didn't see the sun until our last day!). Our room was incredibly spacious and very clean. Our breakfast every morning was great and the time spent with our hosts was wonderful. Gilda and her staff were extremely gracious, catering to us from the time we arrived. They drove us into town to pick up some groceries upon our arrival and arranged for cars from local restaurants to pick us up for dinners. Rosa was great, offering suggestions on where to go and how to get there, and a pleasure to just talk with. While it was still "off season", the walk into town was not bad and Rosa provided us with the schedule for the bus, which stops very close to the house and only required a little coordination to limit your wait. I would highly recommend a stay with Gilda. Thanks for a great stay!

My husband and I experienced the warm concept of the Italian family first-hand during our stay at Gilda's. We felt welcomed all the time; Gilda prepared delicious breakfast everyday and she even cooked lasagna and tiramisu only for us, knowing it was our favorite meal. It was exquisite, by the way. At all time they were attentive, giving us recommendations as to places to go, where to eat, what to do. The room we got, it was very, very clean, open, with gorgeous views of the ocean and town. Most of the best moments of our trip to Italy during the summer of 2006 are from Gilda's house. I highly recommend it and can't wait to go back.
