What can we say - this has to be the best restaurant in the region - we went to La Tagliata weekly during our 1 month stay in Positano - its a "must go to" place. The concept is home style food, no menu and local vino at set price, where the food is more than plentiful and it is just fantastic - antipasta, pasta, meat, salad, desert and of course limoncello. We got to know Pepi very well and saw him down in Positano several times - he was always very friendly and stopped for a chat.

This meal was unlike anything else in Italy. You felt like family, maybe because the entire family works at this spectacular place. The courses are brought to you. There is no menu. I cant encourage travelers enough to go there. It was my favorite place on the coast...

THE best meal we had in Positano. It was quite the adventure getting there, but so very worth it. I was hesitant, as the idea of no menu for this sometimes picky eater was daunting. Our driver to Positano, Umberto Izzo (fabulous guy) highly recommended this restaurant. Momma was hard at work in the kitchen and made THE most fabulous meal I've probably ever eaten…not to be missed!!!

They have a shuttle that will pick you up from Positano. We booked it around 7 for sunset and it was perfect. It is a nice big comfortable bus. It was on time - about a 20 minute drive. When you arrive, it is stunning. The whole night felt like a dream with great food. Get the house wine. The food will just keep coming - there is no need to order, they keep bringing out whatever mama is cooking. Not only will the view keep you entertained as the sun sets over Positano, they also have live music. It seems to be timed perfectly - the shuttle came right after we were done with dinner. One of the most romantic places I've been to in the world.

No words I write here will give La Tagliatta justice.

If you are aware of this place and have the opportunity to visit but don't then you are an absolute idiot.
