“"Memorable Birthday Dinner"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2014

Our family of 13 enjoyed celebrating my birthday at this wonderful authentic Italian restaurant during our recent stay in Positano. We were picked up from our villa by the restaurant's shuttle and taken up the mountain, enjoying breathtaking views at every hairpin turn. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were greeted by Vincenzo, one of the brothers at this family owned restaurant. He explained the history of the restaurant and told us that ingredients for the dishes we would be served are grown on the property. The wine is also locally produced. There is no menu. Food is served family style, and it seemed endless! Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was fun, and our family enjoyed a memorable Italian dinner in a beautiful setting. On our way back down the mountain, we were greeted with a gorgeous full moon casting a shimmering light on the Tyrrhenian Sea. The lights of Positano twinkled brightly on the mountainside, and everyone was full and happy!

“Beg to Differ”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2014

This place was fun and the appetizers were really good, but I am appalled that people say this was the best meal of their lives or better than anything they had in Paris, Barcelona or Florence. Where are they eating? the shuttle was a chore, especially since many people at various hotels were not ready when the shuttle arrived and the poor driver had to go hunt them down. Essentially a 15 minute journey took an hour. The view is spectacular but by the time we finally arrived it was pretty dark and one could only see a few lights below. The appetizers, fresh vegies, cured meats and a number of homemade items were very, very good. The pastas were as well. But the meats and desserts were not that good. Because there were only two of us, we were often forgotten while service swarmed around larger tables. When we were served everyone was very nice, but we did feel neglected. We were lucky to be among the first dropped off on the shuttle ride back. was a unique experience but not one we were anxious to repeat. It

“Delicous food and lots of fun, good value, but a little bit stressed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2014

We were a group of 4 People having reserved a table tuesday night (which seems to be popular, because of the Entertainment). As other reviewers, we were picked up outside the hotel, had kind of a sightseeing tour around Positano and up to beautyful Montepertuso. We had a warm welcome when we arrived. Lots of different vegetable dishes were immideately placed on the table, which tasted fantastic, never had such delicous vegetables before. Also the pasta dishes we got were first class. We were a bit disapointes about the grilled meat, which was presented, in a kind of mess on a big plate. We didn't know what kind of meat we were eating. Actually we would have prefered less meat. They served local produced wine, and very quickly replaced the empty bottle with a new one. When we came we had no idea about the prize, and we were surprised when we got the bill. Very affordable.
The Entertainment was amusing and they included the guests to take part which gave us a good laugh and memory. Finally the tour back to the hotel were Nice. Everybody in the small bus were in a good mood, and we got to know some nice people.

We had a wonderful experience, and I would have rated this restaurang with 5 ponts if it weren't for the stress we experienced when they served the food. It all happened so fast, and they took away my husbands plate before he had finished, to serve new dishes. It gave us the feeling that they wanted the us to leave us soon as possible. We could have wished they gave us more time to enjoy all the delicous Food and the nice atmosphere.

“Life changing meal and experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2014 via mobile

I could not have asked for a better visit. We visited Tagliata based on a recommendation by a friend and were enthralled by the food and atmosphere. After the wonderful experience we had, we returned for a second visit during our trip and were equally impressed. I would not only recommend but I would urge others to go and experience the gem that is La Tagliata.

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2014

Our family of 8 had lunch here (ages 10-55), and ALL of us loved it, and can't wait to go back. The food is delicious, and plentiful with thoughtful service.

Make reservations and have the restaurant pick you up, or hire a driver; this isn't a drive to be undertaken without a lot of local experience (and good insurance)!

I really didn't get the "too touristy" vibe as described by some other reviewers. There's only like 20 tables, so I don't think trapping tourist is their business model. This place seems pretty low-key, and only interested in providing a great experience.
