I had the grilled seafood platter.... it was so fresh and delicious!!! Others had the lobster ravioli and the fettuccini with wild boar. We also had salads to start and the chocolate souffles. All plates were bone dry. Everything was spectacular !! My favorite meal so far

“Superb Cuisine at the Beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2013 via mobile

Chef Andrea has raised the bar in Positano with this year's offerings at the Ristorante Buca di Bacco. His fish creations are sublime, from tartars to roasted whole fish, he pairs fresh herbs and sauces like no other chef in town. Also delicious are the antipasti and pastas, and dessert is not to be missed. A bit more expensive, but definitely worth it!!!

“There are better places to eat in Positano”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2013

We did not like this restaurant. It was ok, not great and I do not think it's worth the price. One person in our party got the spaghetti with meatballs and they were the blandest meatballs I have tasted. The seafood was fresh but it was not one of the better meals we've had in Italy. It does have a very nice view though.

We like reviews that can teach to us good suggestions but forgive me if we do not see what we can learn from this one. If the problem were the blandest and tasteless spaghetti with meatballs I would like to ask what it was the problem? In this case it is always possible to ask and add for more seasoning or tomato sauce and the salt & pepper is always available on the table to satisfy the personal taste! If definitely something does not like it is always possible to ask for something else!
Spaghetti with meatballs is a very popular main course in our restaurant, very simple to cook, prepared and served freshly every day, no one in the past years has complained about it.
Can you imagine that after 97 years of cooking we still do not know how to cook and serve this simple course from our tradition?
Very often it may happen that our taste is influenced from our style of life, from what we like to eat and how much seasoning, dressing, spice we are used to add to our food, too much spice etc. may kill the taste!
Yours Sincerely,
Salvatore Rispoli

“Truely an incredible experience so far! Day 1”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2013

We were greeted at the front desk at check in and the people at the counter could not have been nicer, we had a hundred questions and they took the time to answer them all. We heard about the coking class and my wife and I decided to take it. We booked it when we checked in, and took it that afternoon, it was awesome!! The class was hands on an the chef, Andreia, was really exceptional, Carla, the translator, was clear and extremely helpful, cannot say enough nice things about the kitchen staff. They taught us how they made 2 different pasta dishes, 1 eggplant dish and 1 desert, it was all hands on and best of all, we got to eat what we made, served in the dining room , with wine and a fantastic view, it was a great way to enjoy the afternoon.
The room is amazing, view spectacular and the staff extremely helpful. Would come back in a flash,

“Great view, Excellent Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

The restaurant has multiple levels, the rooftop terrace and the ground floor. Both spots are great, super cute and they both overlook the ocean. We sat on the rooftop terrace so nothing would obstruct our view of the beautiful scene. The service was perfect. Our waiter, Luigi, was extremely friendly and we did not have to wait too long for our food to arrive. The food was just wonderful. I had the trufie pasta with pesto & pine nuts...which was very good, but my husband's dish was phenomenal. You must order the "Mixed Seafood Pasta"... it is out of this world amazing. You have to work for it a little, as you have to peel the shells off the seafood, but boy is it worth it. Also, I heard they offer a 5 hour cooking class which is outstanding, but we weren't in Positano long enough to spend a whole day cooking. Anyway, eat here!
