“A stunning, tiny, church”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2012

Inside it is so simple, moving, lovely. Many weddings are held here annually. If I were to get married again- of course, to my husband, I'd love it here!

“Nice spot but in Ligury”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

If you visit Ligury (the region in Italy where Portovenere is located) you have to accept the fact that it is inhabited by ligurian, an ostile population whose national sport is complaining. As an example, Romans have had a lot of difficult to rule the Ligurians. Only if you can become their friend you can really appreciate these people (sometimes). Obviously you can be lucky but the average people is, as a maximum, indifferent to the turist. On the other hand you are not disturbed by curiosity or approached of the people around you.
Anyway, this church is wonderful: on top of the sea this is one of the first churches built in the bay of La Spezia and has a magnificent view of Portovenere. The interior is very small and suggestive. It is a small jewel in the tipical style of Genoa churchs. It worth a visit and the larger San Lorenzo's church in Portovenere as well. When I visited San Peter it was not so dirty: many tourist can dirty in a very short time.

“very dirty”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012

Nice spot but dirty and smelly.
I really wonder what is going on in Italy.
It's so superdirty and people are so rude.
Last time maybe for me ...

“Great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2012

This lovely little church is located right at the end of the town on the rocks with great views down to the sea and its very pretty inside. Just round the corner is byrons cove where you can get down close to the sea and walk round the rocks for dramatic views.

“The view from the balcony”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2012

Is Breathtaking! The church offers much history and is quite a splendid place to take in a view of the sea. It is truely Magnificent on the balcony of the church (balcony is located off the interior of the main church). Enjoy!
