We stayed in the Cloister Terrace Junior Suite. The view from this room was incredible.

The room was very spacious, but the patio or terrace is what made the room incredible. The patio was nearly as large as the room and the views from it were spectacular. The terrace is on the corner of the building, so it offered views in 2 directions.

The hotel is very well located for exploring the town of Porto Venere and Cinque Terre. There are ferries that will shuttle you to Cinque Terre, but staying in Porto Venere was excellent because it wasn't right in the middle of everything. It seemed like most of the tourists were from Italy or other parts of Europe.

Room Tip: The view from the room we had was stunning. See pictures.

I am delighted to learn that your stay was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and it gives me great pleasure to read your kind words on our beautifully appointed rooms.
Just for telling the truth the vast majority of our Customers is from United States , but it's possible that during your excursion to Cinque Terre you have met people from everywhere.

If you are visiting Cinque Terre and are looking for a great location, I highly recommend the Grand Hotel in Portovenere . It is a small hotel, but it has great service and fantastic views. The staff is very accommodating and willing to help. Due to rain, we had to postpone our Saturday boat trip to Monday. Unfortunately Monday was also cloudy with a high chance of rain; nevertheless, the concierge staff at the hotel arranged for us to get a bigger boat with a roof so we could enjoy the trip without getting soaked.

Room Tip: We stayed at the cloister suite. It had a nice terrace.

A short stay at this seaside spot, a lovely town to visit, plus a great base for the Cinque Terra, with ferries on the quayside just by the hotel.

The terrace for breakfast and evening drinks have great views, sunshine, great service.

We also managed to say hello to singer Josh Groban at breakfast, who was staying there before his concert with Andrea Bocelli in the town. Breakfast buffet had good variety.

Rooms are not massive but ok, bathroom modern, twice daily housekeeping.

Recomended to us by our agent.

Arrived late afternoon and immediately left to tour town.
Got back late to find only sheet on bed.
No blankets or duvet.
Had to use bath gowns to stay warm had a bad nights sleep.
Asked for and got duvet in the morning.
Breakfast included - but poached eggs €6 extra (sic)
Tried to take a late afternoon nap to catch up with sleep lost previous night, but was kept awake by entertainment singer below our room.
Decided to go down and enjoy the entertainment seeing as I couldn’t sleep because of singer.
On sitting down at table was asked to leave because I did not have a reservation.
Explained I was guest at hotel but told to leave and go to manager and make reservation.
Poor people skills and no service ethics.
Very poor way of treating a resident at the hotel
In the end did not have supper at hotel and went elsewhere for supper.

Not cheap and not so grand at all.

Dear jououmas d ,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our Grand Hotel . I was truly sorry to hear of disappointment during your stay. I understand that our Front Office Manager has been in contact with you and met you personally first of all to apologize and also to understand your point and clarify the situation , to make the rest of your stay as much comfortable as possible.
We have a Singer two or three times per week who is very appreciated and start at 7pm til 10,30 pm a timetable chosen for not disturbing customers late in the evening or early afternoon.,
The Terrace has different seating for the Bar and The Restaurant , and our Staff was trying to accomadate you at one of the table of the Bar cause the ones of the Restaurant were booked for other customers I apologize if this has caused trouble to you.

I am sorry for the duvet you had to ask but we have 24 hours service and our Staff is there to help you and to accomodate things on the spot, the duvet were removed at the request of the vast majority of the other customerscause the temperature outside was very warm .
I do hope that you will allow us a further opportunity of welcoming you back to The Grand Hotel so that we can deliver a faultless experience for you.

Kind regards,

Antonio Polesel
