A welcoming place which we warmly advise !
The spot is particularly beautiful, in front of the sea and even more when the sea becomes a giant swimming pool some days of the summer.
Try the "gnocchi agli granchi " , the best ever eaten !

This little village is an absolutely delightful place to stay while visiting the Cinque Terre villages and soaking in the Italian sunshine, wine and food. And the view from this restaurant - combined with the friendly waiters and excellent food - makes for a perfect end of the day. We had steamed prawns and a mixed salad, and a pesto pasta and pommodoro (tomato) salad - nothing pretentious, but when combined with a lovely bottle of local white wine, this was just just the ticket! And compared to many other restaurants, 65 Euros was quite reasonable. Miramare is a very nice looking restaurant. Its friendliness and reasonable prices were very pleasant surprises.

We took a day trip to Portovenere - everyone should.
Portovenere, like the five towns of the Cinque Terre, is a
UNESCO World Heritage site. Right on the point of the
peninsula, with a marvelous harbor, and a bay overlooking
nearby islands and the larger city of La Spezia.

We decided to have an out-door lunch, with a table right on
the harbor. Beautiful views from either the ground floor -
outside - or the indoor second floor. (Restaurant is named
for the marble which is mined and harvested in nearby
Caracca.)

Food was just delicious, service was very good, experience
was a fitting end to our two week Italian vacation. Prices
were reasonable. Wait staff spoke English.

We shared a seafood antipasti - all of the treasures from
the sea that Neptune could provide. My wife had stuffed
mussels, which were to die for. I had the fried seafood
platter. If anything was left out of the seafood antipasti,
then it was part of this dish. Clams and mussels, calamari,
squid, shrimp, and more - all delicious, and tender, nothing
was overdone. House wine was delicious and reasonably
priced.

If you go to Portovenere, this is a good place. Open on
weekends in the off-season, then again open regular days
(not sure which day it is closed) from the end of March
until the first of November.

If we ever go back, we will definitely come back. We highly
recommend this place.

The problem that you face when stay for more than a few days around the region, like here in Portovenere-Cinque Terre, is the restaurant menus become very very predictable. Basically all them serve the same dishes and even the names in the menu are quite the same. One thing I enjoyed in Miramare was they have other options out of the sea food pasta and side dishes offered in almost all other restaurants. The wine list is not so inovative but it is good, since the regional wines are very appropriate for any kind of food you choose.
The venue where Miramare is located is very pleasant and perfectly fit its name, which in free translation means "sea view" . In this case the view is the marina of Portovenere, quite bucolic, although offering an interesting contrast of old small rowing boats docked aside of huge luxury and modern yachts. I recommend you to go for diner. You will be delighted to see the sunset ( in summer season it is around 8:30 PM ) while you taste a good glass of wine and enjoys a romantic atmosphere with your wife/mate.
I liked the the good mood of the staff, waiters are father and son and they dedicate the necessary attention to you while doing jokes of each other, in a moderate and fun manner, tipical of Italian people.
I really had a great time in Miramare and recommend you to pay a visit
