Description: In this elegant five-star hotel in Tuscany, today part of The Leading Hotels of the World, Chef Sebastiano Lombardi's cuisine is always a lovely surprise, thrilling and satisfying all five senses. The Michelin-star restaurant dining room is a large veranda overlooking the sea, opening onto the terrace facing the garden. The walls are decorated with wallpaper reproducing a drawing by Piero Fornasetti, and original 1960s appliques created by Italian craftsmen. In the two-Michelin star restaurant, in Porto Ercole on the Argentario coast, the lamps are made of bird cages, and the large windows frame the moonlight reflecting off the sea. The kitchen uses only seasonal organic fruits and vegetables, plus the day's catch and organic meat from carefully selected local producers. Under the skilled touch of our Michelin-starred chef, food becomes a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Guests with a sweet tooth will be thrilled by the parade of desserts and the Tuscan dessert cart, plus a selection of the finest chocolates. At Il Pellicano, the day always starts off right, with the fragrance of freshly-baked cakes and breads, freshly-perked coffee, jams, yogurt, fresh fruit and vegetable juices, cheeses from local dairies, and organic eggs.

We had several meals in this wonderful two Michelin star and three Gambero forks restaurant and each dish lived up to our expectations during our four-day stay in this incredible hotel. On our first night, we ate out on the terrace with a warm breeze blowing and with the full moon dancing on the sea in front of us. It was the stuff that dreams are made of! Before each meal we were served with several amuse bouches, each one as outstanding as the next. The one that stands out was the pure white Bloody Mary tomato treat! For our first meal, we had the rocket, artichoke and parmesan cheese insalata and the hearts of lettuce and anchovies salad as starters. For our mains, we had squid ink calamari risotto. To accompany this, we shared a bottle of Jacquesson 737 Champagne. On the second night, we decided to have the full degustation menu, which consisted of one delight after the next, the most outstanding of which was the prawn risotto with almond cream. In fact, this was so good, we had it again on our third night. Our wines for the second night were Le Brun Serveny Grand Cru Rose from the Avize region, followed by Brunello di Montalcino Sesta di Sopra 2009. On the third night, our main meals were rare lamb fillet and venison, which both went very well with Guado al Tasso 2001 by Antinori from the Bolgheri region. For our final dinner, we had a glass of the Le Brun Serveny followed by Gavi di Gavi Marchesi di Barolo 2013, with the same two insalatas that we had on the first night and we finished our stay with an enormous T-bone steak, which was cooked to perfection that we shared, while drinking a Bunello di Cerreto Alto 2001 by Casanova dei Neri. After every meal, we were served with little delights, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The service was impeccable and the advice of the sommelier most notable! Well done to all concerned and in particular to Antonio Guida and his team. It has been a privilege to have tasted and to have enjoyed your food.

A more romantic setting is not possible to top this place really deserves two stars and i trully hope it remains that way classic Food well cooked to perfection without any foams or Towers Bravo! The chickenbreast we had was out of this world only other great chicken I ate was Zuni Cafe in San Francisco. The catch of the day was fresh as it can be.The selection of Desserts and especially the ice creams better is not possible.Outstanding wine list with lot of good back vintages.Secret Tip ask for the best White wine in Italy (it comes from the village of Furore)will not tell you the Producer here otherwise everybody will be drinking it and None for me when I return

Good food but just not worthy of 2 stars. We had the lobster, ravioli, john dory and pigeon. The view is amazing and the staff very attentive and friendly. I think it would be to their advantage to lose the stars, this will reduce the scrutiny.

Let me start by saying that we did not stay at the hotel, but just dropped by one day to have lunch in the Pelligrill. Lovely view from the terrace overlooking the pool and ocean. Excellent service, delicious food, but their Panna Cotta did not quite reach the standard of the one I had in Siena a few days earlier. By no means cheap, but well worth a visit for that extra special occasion.

I booked for celebrating my husband's birthday. The food experience with the tasting menu was great (no just tasting! 6 real small portions). I really would like to thank you for the high quality service and for the cake with "buon compleanno" (happy birthday) they prepared for us (even if I asked for a celebration candle with the dessert, I did not expect such a wonderful surprise)! On top of it, the location is breath taking: magnificent villa on the sea.
